I did

"Was Nero responsible for the fire of Rome in 64AD"

Focussing on the historians and their context and the changing oppinions and myths of Nero, in the creation of the rumour. Right up to the Burning software "Nero". 45/50. I was happy. :giddy:
haw, mad! I did Eusebius' version of the fire of Rome and looked into how everyone thinks Nero persecuted the Christians as scapegoats after it, or so says Tacitus. Pretty coo, turns out Tacitus is really the only mentions who mentions such a thing, yet everyone takes it as fact. Started off real boring but got quite good towards the end when I actually started doing some work :)

I did the US involvement in the military coup in Chile, 1973. Lots of fun, all very serious conspiracy stories (actually most of them were true), paying out Nixon and Kissinger, then paying out Hersh for paying out Kissinger....nah, in all seriousness, I actually enjoyed writing the thing, it was fascinating. 40/40 woooooo!

mine was "assess the modern interpretations of the controversy surrounding the origins of the salem witch trials". it was really interesting researching for the essay cos there are so many theories out there and i didn't have trouble with resources, either. there are many books available if you look in the right places, and the web was very handy too. =)

Doing something on the Hilton bombing, and as such will either focus on the governments response to the Hilton bombing (might even link with Bali) or the reasons behind the Hilton bombing (including who did it), i'll be researching these holidays i think...

I did my project on how various modern fictional works (namely bram stoker's "dracula" and it's derivatives) have affected interpretations of the historical personality Vlad Dracula ("the impaler"). A bit out there I know, but it was interesting. Materials a bit hard to find though

I'm in the class of '04, I did the French Revolution. Basically I discussed the nature and causes of the revolution from major perspectives - marxists, revisionists and the post revisionists.

if your still on this website, i would like to ask you a few questions, because your topic is very similar to mine in retrospect that im focusing on also the different interpretation of Vlad the Impaler, how the west romanitisized him with such books as Bram Stokers Dracula, how the ottomans hated him, and how the romanians viewed him as a national hero.
do you by any chance have an historians that specialise in romanian history emails?

cheers

I am under the assumption that you know most of this already but a bloody good source of information is from the German documentary producer Guido Knopp. I am not exactly sure if it would detail Mengele's psychology but it has a heap of information on Auschwitz and the Holocaust in general.
