Remember Year 12 students, refer to the Good Uni Guide. It's "the Bible" according to a lecturer I heard from.

hmmm possibly..

Im quite interested in Psychiatry, Psychology, Physiotheraphy, PDHPE Teaching and even Engineering

what are your thoughts on any of the above..?
Well I know this is hard, but which of those do you enjoy the most? You'd be able to find job prospects in all those areas. Psychology and Engineering particularly interest me.

I don't think some of these kids realise how hard it is to get into med. And doing a Med Sci degree is pretty dangerous. Cos if you don't get into Grad Med ( and there are that many Med Sci degrees, thus meaning a lot of kids trying for grad med), you'll be stuck with a degree that allows you to only go into research, which I'm sure many people won't like, or don't understand what's involved.

Not to mention the fact that being a surgeon is an incredibly stressful job. Shit long hours, low margin for error, uber stress levels, the emotional toll. The depression rate in doctors is pretty high for a reason. And being a GP would be so much fun! diagnosing colds all day, and writing old men prescriptions for Viagra...

I'm an optimist I know! But seriously I desperately wanted to be a doctor for when I was in primary school, up until year 10, then I realised how unrealistic it can be.

I'll probs be flamed for this.

Oh, and I wonna do B Commerce at UNSW.

Unfortunately I can't maintain the pattern of Med hopefuls. XD

I hope to complete a Bachelor of Ancient History (Honours) at Macquarie University, and then undertake a Bachelor of Arts combined with a Diploma of Education, also at Macquarie University (or perhaps USyd). :)

just lol at all the dumb naive teens theses days that think they are going to grow up to be a doctor and be a hero and save a million lives.

For those of you that you dont know, most of the time it is the "nurses" that save the lives , doctors are just paper pushers most of the time

Be a real man and do Elec Eng/Commerce like me. After all , almost every piece of technology that they use at a hospital was designed by an electrical engineer
