Everyone's ideas sound really good. I can't wait to hear what everone gets.

I'm doing "Amazon Warrior Women: Fact or Fiction?" It's really interesting, but hard trying to distinguish the myths from the facts.

Just a suggestion to everybody in Sydney, Maquarie Uni library is stocked full of amazing books on pretty much every subject. All you need to do to become a member is fill out a form that's available on their website and pay the 25$ fee. you get membership for a year and the library ladies are really nice. I'm up there most sundays.

So, good luck everybody, in the HSC and MWs.

Made more difficult because you've got a loaded term in your quesion?

'Amazon' and 'Amazons' are terms given to a number of mytho-historical characters ranging from totally mythical to factual.

Yeah, I've done a year's worth of Sahidic formally as part of my course, and am now studying the various dialects informally.

Do you know any? :)
I know a little bit of Sahidic - not very much though!

I assume you know more Bohairic, then?
Yep more Bohairic - mainly the stuff in the Coptic liturgy.
I actually go to a Coptic school, but we only learn coptic until year 10 and our teacher is pretty dodgey.

If they're Egyptian, they're probably making it up as they go. Dodgy bastards. ;-)

Oh wow, sounds really cool! What kind of work were you doing?
Is it hard to find work in the archaeology field?

It's not a question, it's a topic.

Have you read widely on the person? If you find that you're reading a lot about him, and that you haven't got a topic, maybe you should chose another one.

hi everyone, some of the projects are sounding really interesting. I'm looking at Jack the Ripper and the methodology (not quite the right word (?)) that has allowed the perpetuation of his myth. Really need to start doing more work!!

The Max Stuart Case

Yeah, that makes me cool cause no one has ever heard of it :p

Question is: ‘Examine the Stuart Case of 1960 and its effects on Australian society and law’
Our teacher gave us some sheets on creating a Ext History major work and it basically said the essay needs to be a historical debate. Knowing that, should i change my question to just focus on whether Stuart was guilty or not? That way i can easily set out my arguments for and against etc

the role of post modernism in the marginalisation of traditional History and the rise of New Journalism and Historical Fiction as a 'replacement' post-Vietnam.
