when did everyone start their 4 unit course? (1 Viewer)

hey
when did everyone start their maths extension 2 course?
i started in the fourth term last year, and we had to have a weekend of learning a whole chapter of conics coz we don't have enough time!
does everyone else get a weekend too?

we've done:
- complex numbers
- curve sketching
- polynomials
- integration
and now doing conics...
i don't think we'll be able to finish the course and have enough revision time..we only have 2 hours a week of ext2 which is very little!
anyone on the same boat?

yeah, the 2 hours a week is cause it is supposed to be one unit course, lol

for us, the teacher gave extra classes towards to end to try and finish it, but still couldn't. :s

I think all the 2 unit classes should be replaced with take home assignments and the 4unit be run at that time.

Hrm.. we started the course day 1 week one of term 1 and we've just finished the course.. excluding the Advanced 3U chapter. I dont see how it takes so long to finish the course? :S

Term 4 last year, we only have 2 50 minute lessons a week... but my teacher's trying to bump it up to 3 because we're fairly slow... we've done Graphs, Complex, Conics, Polynomials and are in the middle of Integration, but she's pushing us so hard and fast because she's realised how little time we have left...

we have 18 periods a fortnite
9 a week
9 x 53 = 477 mins ... so ~8 hrs of maths a wk

then agn we have combined 3 and 4u class
but we barely do 3u stuff coz we pretty much finish a whole topic in 3u in like a week

Thats alot of maths!

Lets see...
1 hour lessons on tuesday and friday afternoons = 2 hours a week for 4u lessons.
