hmmm....the funny thing is that most of my tutors are also my lecturers.

none of my lecturers really care what they are called, cept my theatre studies guy, his name is jonathon, one girl called him john and he like totally freaked

I call them by first names. Been used to that from senior HS.

Techically if they have a higher rank than you (ie. Dr or Professor) then you should refer to them by their title. If they are Mr or Ms etc. then you can call them by first name. Most uni staff don't seem to care though.

First name basis. Cept i can't call one lecturer Dave, it has to be David. Whilst the academic supervising my research project is named Micheal and doesn't mind being called Mike. Lecturers don't really mind if you call them by their first name, guess the assume everyone is an adult. Give them nicknames and call them that to their face We call our lab supervisor the Big D, he loves it. Too bad he doesnt mark any of my exams.

CSU is really relaxed, wether tutorer, lecturer, or professor or subdean or dean, or even our chancellor, we call them by first name and they dont hav aproblem
