Hey everyone
Good old late round offers - ill be at Mac too!
BBA BA-psych, like Ciel. Is this for a meet-up thing?
I was stupid enough to put Sydney Uni first, and actually got an offer - glad I changed back to 'The Club'.
Is everyone kind of ready for Uni? Cause the break has been sort of boring.

if you can be bothered, if you're like most other people threaten to quit and then you'll stay

Well I haven't started uni yet, but I think if you got days off during the week there's nothing wrong with working part time. But that also depends on how 'full on' your degree is.

uni + work depends on the person. it really does.

but i am yet to find someone who does full time uni and part time work. ~20hrs to get awesome marks, average at best. although sometimes they can pull off D's.

i might be working about 50 hrs a week and full time uni, next semester...if it works out perfectly. (probably ~35, in all probability)

Oh, redruM I just noticed you were a EFS mentor...do you think I should find someone from law to help me out? Maybe it would be useful...did you have one in first year?

I think everyone should have a mentor... I gained so much from my mentor.

Not only subject-related stuff (eg "This subject seems so stupid.... is it?" / "Yeah. But easy to pass, don't worry!") but also stupid "general" stuff like when to avoid trying to get parking, good places to sit etc etc. :)

Additionally you get sorted into "peer" groups on Orientation Day. It can be hard to make friends... at the very least you'll get to meet some people doing your course and can get a head start on the whole social thing. A familiar face in your first lecture can make a potentially really scary thing into something less daunting :)

i did have a mentor in first yr. got a couple of emails from them (they were both hot!). and helped out with second hand textbooks etc. other than that, mentors are over-rated. :)

more specifically, why do you feel you need a law mentor?

(i really should have known what you were on about )

I just heard some good stuff about mentors and then when I read your sig it reminded me of what I had heard. I think I'll find a mentor, hopefuly they can give me a hand with textbooks and some general stuff like Lynn mentioned. :)

If you go to Orientation Day, you will be assigned to one. There isn't any other way to "get" a mentor. :)

Go to Orientation Day! And if anyone is going to the SCMP one... say hi! About 4+ BOSers will be mentoring there! :)
