To put it simply? Because right now she is representing a nation of 19 million Australians.

However, I am anti-Corby.

your such a racist.
Racism:
1. The belief that race accounts for differences in human character or ability and that a particular race is superior to others.
2. Discrimination or prejudice based on race.

I don't see how calling someone a nigger is racist. Niggers call each others nigger all the time and they're certainly not discriminating themeselves are they?

So please stfu Huratio you ugly contribution of wormy parrot droppings.

Do you really need this to be explained to you?

The use of the word "nigger" applied to black people by non-black people has a widely accepted pejorative tone. It has overtly sinister and ill-intended connotations. The social semantics and context of the word contribute to the use and therefore the sense in which it is used. So, used in an inappropriate sense, it is prejudicial because it has very negative connotations that only obtain when expressed towards members of a certain race (ie. black people).

Thus it is "discrimination or prejudice based on race".

Predjudices exist, deal with it. We learn to differentiate people from an early age. Social status, race, socioeconomic background. The list goes on. Whether or not that means treating them differently is another topic; but the fact remains that we will always put different people into different categories. It is human nature. I'm sick of this social tirany you fundamentalists call "Political correctness".

Response to Asquithian's post a couple days ago:

like i said in the other thread...

the media talk about corby because to some ppl she is attractive.../ i gave this example: if an extremely unattractive 60 year old woman was caught in an asian country - would there be extensive news coverage on her trial? like i said- it will get its 10 second spot on 10 news.

it wouldn't even get 10 seconds. The media, lets face it, love scare-mongering. They like to blow things out of proportion, and they do it all the time (re: the HRT therapy bullshit they fed to everyone). The reason they can do that in this case is
a) she's a woman
b) she's young, and fairly attractive to some people (ok, i mean, she's not fat and ugly is she?)
c) she looks innocent

so the public can say "oh my God, that's terrible, she's obviously innocent, because she looks like my sweet next door neighbour/girlfriend/sister/daughter/friend". And they think "if it can happen to her, it might happen to me!" And the media just feeds this paranoia, by playing up her innocent side.

Your argument is confused and nonsensical. What are you trying to say? Are you suggesting that we should not treat people equally because of superficial differences that they have no control over?

Incidentally, the term fundamentalist is hardly appropriate to someone of my disposition, and it is especially ironic when wielded by a person claiming that calling black people "niggers" is acceptable.
