I say the UK and Australia should gang up on America. ;)
Then we'll have a competition on our hands!

they have a higher popualtion, which leads to a higher number of people having a good voice.

if, generally, 10% of the popualtion have good voices, town A with pop of 300 has 30 people, and town B with pop of 3000 has 300 people

And in Conclusion, the expectation and competition is therefore higher. Someone like Guy auditioning in American would have NO chance whatsoever of getting to the next round (top 100).

it does not allways work like that, there is an exeption in every rule. for example at olympics Russia with population of 140million inhabitants won more (gold, silver and bronze) medals than China with population of 1.3 billion people

WHEN Guy Sebastian sang Sound of Music classic Climb Every Mountain on Australian Idol, many said it was the song that won him the competition.

Could Guy Sebastian be the first World Idol?

We can reveal that Sebastian will sing that song on World Idol.

Sebastian will fly to London next week to record the special, and producers have given him a gift he will perform last out of all the 11 Idols from around the world. (Vote: Song for Guy)

According to Centrebet, Sebastian is equal favourite with Kelly Clarkson from the US to win the competition, with Brit Will Young third.

Singing last will only help his chances.

BMG has shipped 300,000 copies of Sebastian's debut album, Just As I Am, to record stores. (Australia more than crocs: Guy)

The buzz around the shops is that the album will be the one to knock Delta Goodrem off top spot. :(
