Yup! I'm currently doing engX1 TD unit and I'm loving it!
I'm guessing you did this too for your HSC as well?

At first when we just started the course and viewed Orlando film I was soo confused as to what in the world was going on, but all thanks to my wonderful teacher who spoonfeeds us I think I've got a firm grasp of the ideas behind this course. FLW was a hectic read but very interesting once explained (I actually wouldn't mind giving it another go)..So yeah starting IOAWNAT after these holidays and can't wait! (and you just reminded me that Marcovaldo-same author was also one of my favourite texts)

Tbh I actually find X1 so much easier to gain marks/understand than Advanced... weirdhuh
Yeah I did it for my Extension 1 English, Textual Dynamics - that is.

But uhh, when my class watched Orlando - we never got over the golden flying angel at the end. We sat there and we weren't sure whether to laugh or cringe... ah, but that was... interesting.

I now have 'Eliza is the fairest queen (that ever trod on the green)' being replayed over and over again in my head... such a bad song... but so good at the same time! <_<

Best would have to be Dune, this year for Extension 1.

Worst was Taronga, first book we ever did in Year 7 and it was unbelievably dull......

One of my criticisms about the novel was the main character being called Winston..

Because I think of Winston the dog in that Garfield 2 movie :(

and then i'm reminded why i wasted my time watching that

worst: if you end up doing romanticism in extension english and are unfortunate enough to do austen - mansfield park.
best: anything other than mansfield park.

Best: Catcher in the Rye, Lord of the Flies; also, The Book Thief was a nice read.

Worst: The Skull Beneath the Skin (I haven't read any of her other stuff, but this was really terrible prose from PD James), As You Like It (just a sub-par Shakespeare)

As You Like It is... alright. I wouldn't call it the worst though. Some parts were good.
