So half yearlies are coming up soon... and my teacher said we'd have a creative writing section based on Belonging. I've written my story up and edited it so its been compiled into 800 words. Is it risky to memorise it?

If you have at least a week to your exam then you will be able to memorise, it's what they expect you to do. I've just done mine and I memorised mine 2 days before and went blank in the exam but still got 12/15. The students who prepare and memorise it are the one's who do better :).

The Creative is the only thing worth memorising for the exam. However, make sure it is versatile enough to adapt if you need to.

Remember a majority of it especially important things like plots, characters, settings and themes, but make the theme in such a way that you can mould it for any situation

This is good advice.

Memorize the plot. That is why teachers get you to do pratices.. Also remember the distinct techniques you used to convey the sense of belonging/not belonging. Just be sure to adjust it to what the question says!
