Had first Ext 2 Lesson today lol, just introduction to Complex numbers and their basic operators (addition, subtraction etc). Hopefully it will get better though, looking forward to the rest of the course.

Also my teacher told me not to read ahead or learn ahead, saying that its very important that especially for 4U to learn in the class in order to get the right idea rather than by self-learning. What should I do? (I will be reading ahead during summer)
Yes, read ahead. Not sure why your teacher would discourage independent learning.

Ours was similar as well. I think they have a mindset that the school is all you need to do well so things like tutors, learning ahead etc. are unneccesary.

They have to say something - I would imagine that most 4 unit students are tutored.

I actually self-taught myself the whole 4U course, my school doesn't have a qualified teacher to teach the course as the only teacher who was retired last year -.- My 3U teacher helped me a little along the way where ever he could, but I found I didn't have any trouble picking up on the concepts involved. Definitely recommend reading ahead with a variety of textbooks - does only good.

and sy123, ur teacher is saying that out of fear of u getting too ahead of the class/ maybe teaching urself "incorrect"( that's what they probably think) methods etc...

I love education don't get me wrong, I have motivation but its on other things that I want to do. I shifted the importance of my exams out of my top 100 list. Been having fun and socialising a lot which is good for a guy like me.
