I love education don't get me wrong, I have motivation but its on other things that I want to do. I shifted the importance of my exams out of my top 100 list. Been having fun and socialising a lot which is good for a guy like me.

But Spiral, didn't you say you wanted to tutor? If so, wouldn't a less than impressive ATAR or HSC mathematics marks actually kinda make it harder for you to gain students?

Its your life and ultimately I can't tell you to do what to do but seriously, I would hate for you to say just miss your uni cut-off or to look back later and think "why didn't I try harder". That's the thing idm I want to be a great teacher no matter what mark I get to show everyone the value of education.I'll do some light revision the night before though

But people don't think in that idealistic way- people look at your marks and make a judgement (I don't agree with that but that's what people do). That's the only reason I want a state rank tbh- I couldn't care less about actually being in the top ten but simply because people will somehow think you are a better tutor because you state ranked which makes it easier to get students etc.

Well Spiral, as deswa said it's ultimately up to you. I only worry about you because it's never pleasant to see someone miss their course - especially when they're capable of getting into it.
