I'm actually far more motivated by good marks. If you keep getting top marks you also set a benchmark for yourself and get extremely upset when you fall below it. When I'm extremely disappointed, I start giving up and questioning whether all the work is really worth it. Hopefully that never happens.

Oh wow. I guess people get motivated different ways xD I just get lazy when I get good marks. I understand the benchmark thing, but I just hate being disappointed and upset with myself. It's a nasty feeling. But when you do get upset try to not question where all the work is worth it, but whether the way you're doing it is right? Maybe there's a different approach to all this instead of all the self doubt. (I'm not one to talk when I fall into the depth of depression when I fail >_<) But yea I hope that makes sense.
