We had Good Riddance (Time of your life) by Greenday... it was rather fitting i thought.

"It's something unpredictable, but in the end it's right.
I hope you had the time of your life."

*sighhh* memories

Great ideas everyone!
I think I'll just have top present all of these to our leaders and see what they think. Bombardment is the best answer.
I was hoping for more though. I'm sure there are heaps of great songs.
I can't really see any though.

Last year they had Photograph by Nickleback.. that fit really well.
Greenday seems to be quite popular.

There might be new songs that come out towards the end of the year that fit.

I was thinking either of these Oasis songs: "Don't Look Back in Anger" or "Stop Crying Your Heart Out".

Ahaha, Because I got High. I will always have fond memories of my Deputy Principal singing that on the year 10 snow trip.

EDIT: Funny thing is, that was probably quite an appropriate song for 70% of our Year 10 class.

You could always have the Graduation song....
"As we go on....."
I think I'll stop.
That's what the 06'ers at my school had. It was soooooo painful... they played it not once, but TWICE. We all had to sit there in assembly bashing our heads against the chairs and drowning the noise in 'Smells Like Nirvana' by Weird Al.... That's what I did anyway...

It is a pretty good song for the occasion though, you've got to admit it.

The only thing I remember about my year 6 farewell was that the girls were crying and I was laughing, and glad to be getting out of primary school.
