I am not looking forward to today. Half our registers are ridiculously slow at the moment. I had to spend 3 hours last night on one, where the EFT was also down. So anytime someone wanted to purchase using a card, I had to save the transaction, which took about 2 minutes for it to save and print out and then take it to smokeshop.

We closed at midnight last night, I was the only full service lane on (was a struggle), store close announcement was made. I'm thinking "ah cool", as I was doing my last basket at about 12pm on the DOT.

Next thing I know, this fucking bitch with two trolly loads packed into the one came up to me. I LITERALLY died inside, I was in such a fucking bitch mood after that. I said "Next time, come to the registers earlier before we close."

Doing 1-6 today, short day but I'll be lucky to breath properly with all those unorganized people rushing to get the last things before Christmas.
Apparent'y got 38 hours next weel (probably four, seven hour SCO shifts, and two five hour operator shifts)

Sorry, I live in Victoria. Thanks for the help :)

Is it the one titled WOOLWORTHS LTD (T/A WOOLWORTHS/SAFEWAY SUPERMARKETS) AND AMIEU AGREEMENT 2008? If so, I can't seem to find any information in regards to casuals and taking leave/canelling shifts (I'm curous as to what rights I have as a casual, whether I actually need a certificate etc.)

Thanks for the help, again xD

on lunch break!
when i got there at 7.55 there was a HUGE crowd waiting out the front, ive never seen that many waiting :S
so i go run and sign in, come back and the store is so packed - looked like we had been open for hours, but had only been open like 2min LOL
about 6 registers open by 8.10 and by about 9am ish all 12 big registers were open.
we seemed to have gone through cycles of busy, then reasonably quiet, which is good.

so we are reeeaaly busy (based on the swarm of people in produce LOL), but heaps of staff on so there isnt big lines which is good :D

lol, well doesn't beat my story. We were open at 6am today (due to coles being open at 6am. GRR)
anyway, started work at 4am, signed on at 5am, ~7am or so, it was flat out. i was busy making platters (i work in the deli) while another person was slicing, and 2 people were serving, and 2 other were in seafood organising orders as such.

anyway, i only got a 30min lunch break @ 1-30 or so, because of the amount of platters i had to make, and how busy it was . (and how shit the case looked).
Apparently, we made 2.5k each hour for the first 5 or 6 hours. slowed down a lot in the afternoons.

anyway needless to say, i'm so tired. thank god it's over... finished at 3pm and had to drop another friend home. woo.

Yay for hecticness.

wowowow, it was crazy busy all day. Smoke shop got raped! hahaha, but then the rep came and did his magic. Lol, 3IC had the shits with me cos I was supervisor yesterday with CSM and 2IC and she was operator. Dont know why they did that, it's my day for supervision anyway every wednesday. She kept giving me evils hahaha!

Anyway Merry Christmas to everyone! Going to the pier party now.

my staff love me, said it was the best christmas ever, because i actually rostered people on, q's were never more than 1 deep but we're still on track to beat last years sales (despite a bigger new store like 5 minutes away). never realised how draining "proper" supervision is (i.e. not serving, just totally dealing with customers, sending people on breaks/home, spot checks etc.)

Merry Christmas all of you <3

Went in to get some stuff for tomorrow a couple of hours ago and it wasn't even that busy! I still think they will get $500k for the day though, not a lot on the shelves.

Ahh well, tomorrow off then 12-10pm Boxing Day even though we are not open - it's always hectic at this time of year!

Merry christmas all.

What a day.

Today was 10 times busier than it was last year, so I'm glad it's over. When we opened, no kidding there were about 30 customers that just came in one after the other. They just kept coming, and coming, and coming. CSM only had 3 people (+herself) on checkouts til 9am. No where near enough, Store manager + 2IC SM had to keep jumping on lanes to clear queues. Did she not know it was the busiest day of the year?!

Kinda relieved it's over. Started at 4am, finished at 7pm, went back at 9.40pm to put Produce back into the Chiller.

I actually had a pretty good day today. I was an extra, front end didn't even realise I was meant to be working, so yeah, I packed until our SM realised that I shouldn't be and pulled me off about an hour in, then supervised, smokeshop and stock.

Awesome day, though sad too. One of our Saturday supervisors left today after 8 years in our store. We were pretty much a bawling mess in express come the end of her shift.

Downside, I broke my phone today. I'm not even going to bother getting it fixed, so woohoo boxing day sales!

today was pretty average for xmas eve...our store closed at 10pm. I was on S/S from 7pm and the number of calls from people asking what time we close was unreal. Died down not long after that.

ok...im not happy coz my favourite svr had her last night tonight, just like babikakez, except she'd been with us for 6 years. my CSM promised me a new PPT contract with her old SCO shifts, plus supervision in the new year.

i asked her about it today and she said that she can't do it now because she's going on leave for two weeks and something about hours being cut in the new year...GGGRH!

also...another pet peeve I have are these new casuals we've taken on...most of them are lazy and show little initiative, leave their register to talk to their friends and sorry, most look like tarts.

sorry guys for the rant...

but Merry Christmas BOS!!!

Yesterday, I was asked to do today for 1pm to 6pm. As I was walking out at 6:10pm, SVR and DM were like "can you pleeeeeeeeaseeeeeeeeeeeeeeee stay till close?". My feet were hurting more then ever, and I felt sick nearing the end of my shift, but I said yes.
So did from 1pm to 10:15 today when I wasn't meant to be working at all. Today was a real wakeup call, never EVER have I EVERRR seen it so busy. We are a small store, made about $200k sales today.
