YOU JUST PROVED MY POINT.Heath Ledger - actor, accidental death Combined Drug Intoxication of various prescription drugs, including oxycodone, hydrocodone, temazepam, and others
1) religion is just a life style. there are different religions which believe that if you do this you go to heaven, fanatic muslims become terrorist suicide bombers as it is a part of their religion to do so (you never hear of a christian or buhadist terrosist) . they believe that by killing non- islamic believers Allah will give them a reward and 44 or what ever number of virgins.1) Religious people commit suicide too (LOL SUICIDE BOMBERS)
2) It is probably true that there is a correlation between atheism and depression, however if I were to guess that's probably because there's also a correlation between intelligence and atheism.
3) Even if being religious was FUCKING AWESOME it wouldn't make the truth any different.
LOL
are my "controversial ideas and opinions" too compelling for you?adomad's just trolling guys. it's impossible for someone to have such controversial ideas and opinions.
lol what a hypocritical thing to say. you in the eyes Of conservatives 'have such controversial ideas and opinions'.adomad's just trolling guys. it's impossible for someone to have such controversial ideas and opinions.
are my "controversial ideas and opinions" too compelling for you?
you're just trying to ignore me as you can't face the facts.
You are ignoring me. Answer my question.are my "controversial ideas and opinions" too compelling for you?
you're just trying to ignore me as you can't face the facts.
Actually I've heard of heaps of christian terrorists, you're probably just young (and dumb). The Troubles - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia There are also buddhist 'terrorists', remember that one man's separatist/freedom fighter is another man's terrorist.1) religion is just a life style. there are different religions which believe that if you do this you go to heaven, fanatic muslims become terrorist suicide bombers as it is a part of their religion to do so (you never hear of a christian or buhadist terrosist) . they believe that by killing non- islamic believers Allah will give them a reward and 44 or what ever number of virgins.
lol what2) einstein was a very knolwdgeable man and was also a christian... he didn't scuicide.
Well isn't that the more important question to answer? That's my only point.3) and what is the truth?

Face what facts? You haven't provided any facts.are my "controversial ideas and opinions" too compelling for you?
you're just trying to ignore me as you can't face the facts.
Oh i didnt realise:mad1:lol what a hypocritical thing to say. you in the eyes Of conservatives 'have such controversial ideas and opinions'.
Firstly thats a really horrible story, I feel really sorry for the boys parents, they'll never be able to forgetAhh Name_taken, a worthy and respectable adversary...
Maybe you would like to read the article I posted up on page 977. Obs3n3 seemed to have disappeared when I asked him about it.
Probably because religion typically provides some kind of semi-defined goal, i.e. 'to live the good life is to *fill in the blank*'. It is easy to introduce existential absurdity if you then keep asking 'why?' of everything, but at a superficial level religious ideals provide a convenient anchor for meaning.I think this is related to the discussion... I've never had a theist explain to me how their faith gives their life meaning. It appears to me that they find meaning in the same sort of things as me... But eh, people maintain it pretty strong.
Yes I agree, just stating "You can't face the facts" is really bad and works against the idea that your position is credible.Face what facts? You haven't provided any facts.

Consider Sartre's notion of existence and essence. A table, or any other object of fabrication, is conceived in the mind of the maker (or fabricator) prior to the existence of the object. The object then comes to be saddled with meaningful intentions for its place in the world. Sartre's atheistic inversion that in man 'existence preceedes essence' instead poses a scenario where we just happen to be here. The natal event carries with it no intelligent meaning or purpose - instead we are simply left to find a meaning of our own.
Against this kind of thinking it makes fairly plain sense to me that the idea of man as a fabricated being created with a purpose in the mind of god gives life meaning in a very straight forward way. It may not be exceptionally reflective, e.g. it does not necessarily require one to answer the question 'why do we accept the intentions of god as inherently meaningful?', but it certainly provides a form of meaning which is missing for the nihilist. A similar form of meaning could perhaps be found by anyone who believes in objective moral truths.
who said that hell is a place of physical fire? it could just be the sensation of burning?Because it just can't. Don't you think we would have found it by now if we had? Sub-surface drilling and all.
Hell is a creation of the bible and christianity, which in itself has no solid foundation on which to stand. It's all circular reasoning and "mysterious ways" with history from a time so long ago that there is no way anyone could quote the prophets directly, and the 'word of god' has been passed down and interperated in so many ways that one cannot know exactly which is right.
It just can't.
you'll see it in due time...where is it?? I demand that you take me there at once!
if temperature is bound by these rules, why can't life be? why is temperature bound?"so... there is a limit to how far back you can go. but no limit to hovw far forwards you can go" - Adomad
Why because of temperatures? Do you realise that those two things don't even relate? Please give me your insight into the possible structures of spacetime, because I'm not sure you know anything about it.
studying.YOU JUST PROVED MY POINT.
Fuck me, what the hell is someone so retarded doing at a Selective school?
It's a subtle psychological nudge to try and get you to question the 'facts'... This may work if the person saying it actually knows what you're talking about lol.Yes I agree, just stating "You can't face the facts" is really bad and works against the idea that your position is credible.
its an expression. you can't face " the notion that your understanding may be wrong and do not want to think about the posibility that there is infact a God"Yes I agree, just stating "You can't face the facts" is really bad and works against the idea that your position is credible.
