It is widely accepted that male drivers are worse than female drivers. However, I do not agree.

Statistics suggest that a large amount of on-road single-car accidents are caused by youth under the age of 25, regardless of their gender. Male drivers do share a big portion of these statistics, but remember that there is a ratio of 2:1 of male to female youth on the road.

After 25 years of age, it becomes apparent that many female drivers have not learned past what they were taught in driver ed. etc... Hence they are no better drivers. They do not learn how to 'feel' how the car is acting (how much yaw/body roll there is in a corner and how to predict the varying degrees of g-force within a corner) and often don't even know the average minimum/maximum braking distance of their own car.

Males who progress past this 25 year old point will most likely have learned a little about car control, not only if they have pushed themselves, but because of the more interested analytical attitude that people posess when undertaking an activity that they enjoy.

That brings me to another point. Males tend to enjoy driving more than females. Many, many female drivers see it as a chore, whereas males like it and are therefore more inclined to try and perfect the 'art' that is driving. Sure, you get the occasional idiot hoon that is out there driving past their own ability, but another statistic states that almost 100% of hoons are under 25 years of age.

women shit me when they drive, in particular this one girl who had a crappy little toyota echo tried to reverse the car out of the carpark in the shopping centre, where it was crowded during the Christmas holidays.

she was reversing her car out as if its a freaking huge sedan or limo i must say lol, im like sitting there with my blinker waiting for the douche to reverse her car, and as a result she holds up everyone inside who want to drive past lol, and then shes reversing all the way back and blocking the lane for other cars to get around, and i keep reversing back to give her room to get out so i can take her spot, and she still wants more room and her car isnt even 3metres long lol, she came so close to hitting the front of my car with her piece of garbage, i kept giving her the highbeam to tell her to stop, but she didnt understand what it meant, but she kept going, if i hadnt beeped at her, she would of kept on going and hit the front of my car lol, thank goodness ehehe.

it took her about 5-10mins to escort her car out...can you believe that shit?

in conclusion,most women are incompetent drivers, im not being sexist or anything, but its true to say, you girls really suck, you struggle to take a little car out or park or reverse park out when parked in a shopping complex, don't get me wrong, some men can be incompetent too, but not to that extent i think lol, thats why you women outrun them lol.

these days people don't understand driver communication, mind you the girl trying to reverse was a green P, no wonder, every time i see a P driver, i make sure i stay clear of them lol, the thing is they are unavoidable haha.

what can i say, i was a p driver once, ofcourse i wasn't as stupid or negligent as some would say.

anyway, thats the end of my rant hehe

From my and my parents observations, many young female drivers tend to do 'stupid things', far more so than other age/sex catagories. That said young males tend to be more prone to speeding and dangerous driving as opposed to the poor decisions and such of young females.

Yes, they are mere generalisations and of course don't represent every single male/female.
But overall I reckon it can't be split by gender because there are pro male and female drivers and also noob ones too.

I agree with Em to a degree, though most of the drivers I see doing something incompetent to the extent of skylines post, are girls.

buddy, this all comes down to driver experience, Ive encountered countless idiots on the roads male & female, and the ones i see doing more fault is the female drivers, i don't think it all comes down to likeliness, but it just seems out there and obvious.

especially the red P drivers, even more when they are girls, i see guys showing off and speeding, driving over the limit on the m4 when the speedo is 100km, they are prob going 120, or i see them speeding on a residential street, IMO thats just wrong and stupid, you aint proving nothing, apart from how ridiculous you are.

girls on the other hand, are either driving stupidly over the speed limit, when they change lanes, they think once they put there blinker they can go in front of you, its fine, yes, i should give way to them and let them in...idiots, shits me, there ability to change lanes is annoying enough...and the car is sooo freaking small! lol

i dont know if you get this alot, but when you are driving a performance car, and you drive slow, and you see red P drivers with there fully sick Nissan pulsars try to challenge you..its stupid, really! Just because my car provokes them they wanna have there shot, but ofcourse i choose not to challenge them, i let them have there fair share and get ahead of themselves, ill already know the result, lol at the end you see a bunch of flowers on the road beneath the light posts...well done P drivers, you have proven yourselves worthy of stupidity.

but then again, alot of full licensed drivers have gotten themselves killed during the Christmas break...how sad?

guess nobody's perfect, needless to say im not either, Ive made some dumb mistakes, but that was either because i was looking for something from my glove box, or half asleep on the road lol.

My dad drives a Camry, and has driven every day since he was 14... He's been a professional driver, has never had a crash of any explanation and has only lost 2 points EVER...

But he does have the 'sport' camry... Lol...

it doesn't necessarily have to be because of driver exp.

there's tonnes of gold platers who are/can be crap drivers, you can't really say it's based on experience, just because they're older doesn't mean they know everything and think they are always right.

and just because we are P platers doesn't mean we don't know how to drive. just coz we're young and freaking awesome LOL. i had to put that in.

it's pretty much like common sense really, if you see something slow down and try to avoid it without crashing into someone else or anything.

@skyline i've seen heaps of guys try to show off too. thats probably because guys 'think they know how to drive' and so they probably do something stupid without even realising

Not neccesarily.

If someone is going about 5 under the limit, it's fine... But going 10/20km/h under is just plain dangerous and stupid. Most of the drivers I know share this view.
