I have never been at work when the power was out(was 30 minutes too late one day!) BUT I have been at work when we have had to do an evacuation due to a fire in Big W.Major Pain in the Ase!

OMFG, My 1-6 shift was so crappy today. Flat out.

Back to school on Monday, So my Roster for this week is:

MON 4.30-6.30
THU 4.30-9.30(SCO)
SAT 1-6(SCO)

And then next week,

MON 4.30-6.30
THU 4.30-9.30(S/S)
SAT 1-6(SCO)*At The Moment

Also had a lady come in today, trying to tell us that the Everyday Rewards Card cost her $120 in fees. WTF?? If it was Everyday Money, then that might be right.not Everyday Rewards. And apparently they are linked to VISA Cards. "Mental"
Hmm, I'm going to remind my CSM that two hour shifts are allowed for close to avoid doing them myself (when we finish late night trade in two weeks). At the moment we're only giving 4-6.30's and pretty much only one or two schools can get here in time for them.

:(

hate 3 hour closes.

Which means probably yet another 6 day, 40+ hour week for me :(

I've had a 7 day, 55 hour week this week. :( And still only get paid 40 hours/no penalty rates/no overtime. Now THAT sucks. :p

But I get my next day off on Friday, so I guess I'm halfway through...

That sounds like you are on salary, correct?

I'm a lucky part time who does 24-38 hours a week (38 max) and soon to be full time gr 5 @ 38 hours a week :D (only for a lil while)

Oh ok, cause that's like the probie grade :p
No, the probie grade is Grade 1, the Non-salaried department managers are on Grade 5 (At least in our state)

Ha...I love how Foodworks justify charging 3x as much as Coles/Woolies because they are a 'community store'. Probably shouldn't dump of Foodworks since by best friend works there. :D
Lol, it's not dumping, coz it's true ;)

I'm a part-timer with 11 hours base, but a 6-4 temp contract with 46/30 hours and a shitload of extra hours for free on top of those :p Wow, fifth week of relief already! :skip:

Yes, I'm salaried.

Dept/relief?/period of time? :)

I work in petrol as assistant manager, and possibly manager as of tomorrow... Been there for 7 weeks so far, and a checkout chick for 5 weeks before that, and no job ever before that, so I'm still considering whether I think I'm even up to doing to job...

But I guess, shitty hours and all, I'm still doing better than 10.50ish/hour that I was getting on checkouts.

The only reason why I think tourist precincts in WA will lose out is because certain stores in WA are paid at a much higher rate than others (through the year, not just when penalty rates are applied). My store gets paid more than another store 10-15 minutes away because we are required to trade sundays/late nights/public holidays at set points in the year. If a national agreement sets pay at a set level, I may as well go and work at the store that doesn't require those hours.
I never quite got why our agreement had a seperate pay rate schedule for non-extended trading hour stores but that makes sense. It's only an extra $9.70 a week though.

Ha, I had to help unload some of our freezers into the big freezer last week and they paid me an extra 23 cents for working in the freezer. Score! :)

Plus, Coles made my first ever super contribution (and probably my last for a while) because I worked more than 30 hours last week. I now have $34.16 for my retirement

I don't know about you guys, but we are getting RAPED in wages. Our duty manager has been told she doesn't have a position from Monday and now she is a highly, highly paid nightfiller - apparently all duty managers are being culled nationwide! Because we have no hours to face the store or clean the dock, the place looks like a disaster area. Christmas was a picnic compared to this.

I guess it doesn't affect me any more because yesterday was my last day. Start my graduate position with Coles tomorrow. Had to do exit interviews and I was scathing of our HR so I have probably burnt my bridges lol.

Apparently Service has gone way over budget this week (I knew that was going to happen, we had 7 people on Australia Day night and it was dead as) so many people are having their shifts cut over the place. My friend lost a 7 hour shift today, she was so pissed off.

Don't worry, you're coming over to the good side ;)

From what I recall you're doing graduate Marketing? You probably won't find it much different working at Coles than Woolworths.

What a cruisey day today. Started off bad, I was 20 mins late 0_0...but I still got everything done, was completely done an hour before I had to do Stocktake so I had an extra long lunch, got stock take done and left half an hour early :)

I love Sundays. Oh and I got a shock this morning, I logged on to Office as I usually do to check the sales, usually my options are "Department Manager" and "Price Integrity" but this morning I had those two plus "Manager". I was like woahhhh....Told my SM about it and he just shrugged his shoulder and said "That's nice"

I expect it to be gone though tomorrow when my SAM (SSM) gets in!

Hmm I have to do cigarette stock take too. =(
Not fun getting up at 3.45am.

Last time they forgot to leave the smoke shop keys in the draw..lucky the office starts at 5am...but I try and get there 15-30 mins early and get a head start (doing it for free) its really the only way I can get it done in time. Would be easier if people put things away neater!

Yep basically the same as ours...
It's amazing what they have done to windows to chop out and restrict so many features of windows, feels so dodgy to use :p (it's not amazing, but im surprised it boots haha)
