and also, the protein contained in eggs is of the purest kind. protein powder companies test the purity of their protein against that of eggs.
Ahh, you are right, but eggs arent a better protein.

Eggs are given a biological value (protein rating) of 100 (the whole egg, as there are some amino acids in the yolk), as they are the best natural source.

However, protein powders actually have BETTER biological value than egg protein. While eggs are given a value of 100, Whey protein isolate is given a value of 159.

Although they test against eggs, the protein powder is of much more value than egg protein.

Biological Value: Protein Ratings

Also, raw eggs may give you food poisoning

It does stunt growth. Just take Omar as a perfect example. He's like a little ball of muscle that only reaches waist-height. So cute!
Just avoid doing it until your 18+ and you can cover all bases. Besides which, you really shouldn't be doing it any younger anyway. Can't stand 16 year old guys who think they're hella buff and shit. They're still kids, no matter how much they try to convince everyone otherwise.
"Hey mummy, can you please give me a lift to the gym and then pick me up a pack of condoms for me, because I don't have any money. Thank you mummy. Wuv you wots and wots!"

I think it only stunts your growth if you start out too young

1. Working out does not stunt your growth
2. Protein powder is a SUPPLEMENT. It is a convenient way to get extra protein and will only help you "bulk up" if you're lifting and have a caloric excess (more calories in vs calories out)
3. Raw eggs will give you food poisoning. A raw egg does not give you anymore protein that what a fired egg would.

/thread.
Sure, the AMOUNT of protein is the same, but the heat denatures the proteins, so the quality of the protein declines. the heat makes it a completely different TYPE of protein.

Raw eggs have the best quality protein there is.

The other two points, however, are very much correct. If you take protein supplements and are not working out all the extra protein turns to fat. The same thing happens if you take steroids and don't work out- you get really really fat, really really fast.

I'm 99.9% sure that working out will not stunt your growth, and that's only a real myth with no real scientific evidence... to the best of my knowledge anyway.

Protein powders definitely work, but only under the condition you have a proper diet and a solid training routine. They're only suppose to supplement your progress, and shouldn't be relied on.
