Someone told me that there is no difference between Standard and Advanced except that you study Shakespeare in Advanced. Is that true?
Not true. You need to make a more indepth analysis than standard in advanced. You really need to be able to understand your texts.

Good luck! I hope you will be allowed to move to advanced.

Practice. Practice. Practice.

But apart from that actually try to learn what you're studying instead of roting. Trust me, it'll work wonders for what you can produce under exam conditions.
Also, try to take part in class discussions.

Class discussions are great! They actually help you learn and share your ideas so you can construct a good response to a question later. I think in subjects such as Legal Studies, you'll be able to share your opinion and it's good to hear the other side of things.

Strawberries, you can definitely improve. I was the opposite way, hating maths. But this year I decided to go in with a fresh effort and different approach and it's going pretty well. Maths is no longer my least fav subject by far like it was in Yr 9 and 10, it in the middle of my subjects. Compare my yearly yr 10 to half yearly yr 11 and my maths rank is 11 better-beating just over half the Yr 11 MX1 class.

And strawberries, I see above the people saying how much study you'll need in Yr 11 for you subjects. I must be comparatively lazy! I don't do that much! (You can see my subs in my sig, a lil different from yours but still). And I should probs be doing more than average yr 11er cause I do 13 units. And my results are decent, my half yearly report I was 1st to 4th in everything. Once again, studying is no magic number based on the hours by certain subject.

So Yr 10 results are no way indicative of how you'll go in Yr 11. They are indicative of where you may need the most work though.

Oh and P.S If you regret picking SAC, I'm sure there'll let you swap now if you asked. My school you even have 4 weeks at the start of Yr 11 to swap classes. Have they even done the final selections yet when they've been put on the lines and all?

You probably have people in your class that are "smart" and get 100 in their English assessments. It's okay. "Sometimes it's not about skill, it's about will."Etthehiphoppreacher. Work hard and get what you set out to achieve. So what if they are ahead of you? So what if they are smarter? I have news for you, it's all about hard work. So while your opponent sleeps, you are studying. When he is on the internet, you are working. Eventually you will catch up.
This. Except you won't catch them, you'll beat them.

As long as you're studying smart, you'll eventually be beating most of the people at your school, especially in selective.

I'm struggling with English. I'm doing English Standard and I got decent to poor marks. The very first listening task, i got 2/10. And I got an 8/15 for th short answer response. Can anyone tell me how to improve the marks? By the way, I love English, especially when finding the techniques and writing a small essay.

How can you love English and get such shit marks?! I fucking hate English and in the last listening task I got 8/10 for short answer and 15/15 for essay.
Fucking increase your rank by getting essay writing guides and using them to write essays!!! Then fucking practice writing essays and handing them into your teacher plus the most experienced Hsc English marker at your school. Then use the feedback to do better. Also do these essays under timed condition after you have your structure downpat.
