Should I do commerce (proffessional accounting) at Macquarie or ANU (commerce).

Should I do commerce (proffessional accounting) at Macquarie or ANU (commerce).

I know that I will not get a great ATAR so I cant go to Usyd or Unsw.

For commerce (accounting) and (marketing) would Australian National University (ANU) be better or Macquarie University?

I heard that Macquarie University is the best for commerce (accounting) so maybe I should go there?

Macquarie does have a really good commerce (accounting) program. But, if you are considering ANU, does that mean you are down at Canberra? And are you planning on doing your CA/CPA afterwards?

Macquarie is fine unless you really want to move to Canberra?

Agreed. Macq has a great business faculty. No need to move all the way down to Canberra just to pursue a course that seems more prestigious. (I don't know much about the quality of ANU's business faculty)

Should be able to get those 12 hours p/w into 3 days if you're lucky!

4 x 2hr lectuers
4 x 1hr tutorial

Give or take an hour or two. You can get it down to 4-5 hours a week if you skip the lectures.

I've never seen my statistics lecturer. I had classes conflict, so I just listened to the lectures later.

And I am not planning to work in the economics field

I just thought it would complement my degree and I would have better job opportunities.

abbeyroad has a point, consider what field you actually want to get into and whether the economics will add to your skills/knowledge etc as opposed to spending that year doing an internship or something else involving work experience. Also, I presume you chose economics because you are interested in it?

The most important part is because it extends your degree by a year, it gives you two opportunities to apply for internships; second year and third year.

Also, it gives you an extra year to improve your work experience in relevant fields and build your ECs.

As an example, you can get a big 4 internship in second year, and then in third year you move to an IB internship with a bulge bracket bank. (GS, JP, UBS, etc) So essentially, it allows you to experience two fields during your university life.

I want to major in accounting and marketing

I dont live in Canberra but I have absolutely no problem moving there.

For bachelor of commerce (international) do you have to study major a language?

I was wonderingif I could major in accounting and marketing and go on an exchange program without majoring in the internation studies area.
