If I am making a speech, how many main points should I have if I am talking about 2 texts?
Is it better to go in depth with 2 points or briefly talk about 3 points?

This

remember 700 - 800 words so you can speak slowly and clearly as well as Make lots of eye contact (almost memorise your speech)
If you have 800 words to play with, you should be addressing 3 points IMO.

Naa, because in a speech you need to remember to 'include' the audience as well.fives ell as your own opinion. When you do that all throughout the speech you only have like 650-700 words left? You also need a strong intro so the audience is instantly interested and a conclusion

Thanks for all your input!!
The speech is supposed to be 5 minutes long. I have decided to include two points and go in depth.
That's the right thing to do, yeah?

Yes, you won't have time to do three points with two texts. It should end up something like this.

100: Intro

150 Theme 1: Text 1
150 Theme 1: Text 2
150 Theme 2: Text 1
150 Theme 2: Text 2

100 Conclusion

Thank you so much!! If I end up getting full marks in this (which I hopefully will), it'll be thanks to you. :)

Yep, presentation is very important with a speech. Don't try to speed up when talking to "fit in" all your content.

For each of your points, how many techniques should you be putting in?

this is a 5 minute speech! i know im going against everyone else, but in that time you could easily get out 900-1000 words (i say 550-600 in 3 mins at a regular pace), and if you wrote a 1000 word essay, you would address 3 points. in my opinion, for this length of time you could go 3 points

Of course you could get out that many words. That doesn't mean you should.

200 words per minute is not appropriate for a speech though. Not a well delivered one in my opinion anyway.
shit youre right, i just remembered my last speech was 4 minutes and it was 600 words not 3 minutes. My bad guys
