I know - I was just pointing out that I wouldnt let my ATAR or marks determine what course I do. I already made that mistake once.
So change degrees - you still have plenty of time.

Then why didn't you just do policing?

I don't understand.
Because it limits my options - I want to do it later down the track. At the moment, I am just working on getting a good education behind me.

but if that's what you want to do you are just wasting time

And pls don't confuse going to Notre Dame with getting a good education.
Notre Dame is a good uni and I'm happy there so a far as I'm concerned I'm not moving. Besides, from what I have seen, the eduction there is just as good as anywhere else. The attitude that it sucks is unfounded and from my view, a product of institutional elitism as opposed to anything factual.

I intend on working in the legal or business field for a while before moving into Policing.

don't RUIN this for me
let me experience my own crushing realisation of how shitty uni life is!

Until then, i'm gonna run around like a 12 year old screaming, "ahhhhh, i'm actually *at* uni!"
This thread has thoroughly been hijacked by a bunch of ex-optimists-turned-realists by the cold harsh reality of adult education. LOL.

I dunno, you don't really have anything to compare it to (you've only been to Notre Dame).
I think it's more that's it's Catholic. :/

Why though?
None of this makes sense.

Well, I have friends who do law at other unis and from comparing what we do to what they do, it is definitely comparable in terms of difficulty and content. The Catholic thing isn't a big deal - I mean, the whole religion thing is pushed way less than it was at my Catholic HS (religion wasn't even a big deal at my HS to being with).

Well, with Policing I don't want to put all my eggs in one basket. I want to have other options in case I enter the Police Force and don't like it. Also, if I decide to have a family down the track, being a cop might not be the best thing for me because it is a very stressful job and the hours are awkward. Plus, if I lose my job as a cop, I will have an education to fall back on (this is even more prudent considering that cops are forced into retirement at 60).

I'm happy to be finally progressing further in life. The whole hsc seemed like being stuck in a rut. Now i'll (hopefully) be doing something more of what i'm interested in and whatnot
