Been a while since I've posted here. Seems like most of you are doing well :) Can't believe we're almost half way through the year, it's gone so fast.

Can't decide if I want to do English or Specialist Maths (similar to y'all ext. Maths I think?) next year :(

Yeah dude, I can't believe too. You should do Maths since Maths>English. Maths is everything.

Usually, I'd agree with Maths > English however I've been finding English easier for some weird reason this year plus it provides an escape from all my Science subjects.

Dude, everything we have is because of maths. English is pretty much useless. Who wants to write essays and analyise films and books.
Both are useful - the analytical aspect of English allows us to express our own unique ideas through critical thinking. English also is an important medium that allows us to think logically and assists in helping us to communicate with others through sustained, cohesive and logical responses.

Essays are vital because they demonstrate your communication of ideas in a logical manner - not because the teachers have a vendetta against you.

I don't think directors or writers construct their mediums for just the enjoyment of the audience; there are underlying contextual influences.

Oh and by the way if we didn't have English, how do you suspect we would have those Maths terms hmm? Quadratic a, parabolas, logarithms, exponential functions how would you even do circle geometry or have word problem? Exactly, without English you wouldn't. Suck on that.

So many pro-englishers here. Mathematics has contributed to us understanding what we understand today. I still think English is important to some degree but Maths is the tool used to understand our universe and our existence. It helped create this forum, the computer/phone you are using and all the technology that we have today. It helped us understand how the planets move around the sun... The list can go on..
Please explain how English is of equal importance to Maths.
