Faith, everyone has heard of God, its silly to use the example of someone living alone on an island.
imo faith is something like "i have faith in my friend to pay me back" or "i have faith that my child will turn out alright"

what is the point of having faith in some possibly mythical being in this life?

I'm not entirely sure what happened to idkkdi's comment, but he made a good point.

In response to this, Jesus performed several miracles which allowed people to believe in Him. If He is to come to this world a second time, I believe He'll have to do the same to ensure people know it's Him.

Of course it would contradict scientific principles. However, if it were to somehow occur during our lifetime, I highly doubt anyone with a lack of faith will still reject it.

I think that with the 2000 years ago thing, it’s more of a historical matter than religious. If you go 2000 years into the future, those who will live in that time period may possibly question particular events that occurred in our time. Of course, technological improvements will reduce the number of questions, but there’s no guarantee that future generations will be able to answer all of their questions regarding the events that occurred during our lifetime.

yeah you'd think that even people with a lack of faith would believe since the action of a miracle would contradict their previous knowledge, but even when they witnessed these miracles they still crucified him because it wasn't a matter of seeing is believing but was due to the hardness of their hearts. God's own people crucified him like they did to the prophets that came before him, parables were a very good way of explaining these things.

"Then He began to tell the people this parable: “A certain man planted a vineyard, leased it to [b]vinedressers, and went into a far country for a long time. 10 Now at [c]vintage-time he sent a servant to the vinedressers, that they might give him some of the fruit of the vineyard. But the vinedressers beat him and sent him away empty-handed. 11 Again he sent another servant; and they beat him also, treated him shamefully, and sent him away empty-handed. 12 And again he sent a third; and they wounded him also and cast him out.

13 “Then the owner of the vineyard said, ‘What shall I do? I will send my beloved son. Probably they will respect him when they see him.’ 14 But when the vinedressers saw him, they reasoned among themselves, saying, ‘This is the heir. Come, let us kill him, that the inheritance may be ours.’ 15 So they cast him out of the vineyard and killed him. Therefore what will the owner of the vineyard do to them? 16 He will come and destroy those vinedressers and give the vineyard to others.”

Interesting choice of words. Why does God have to be equated with mythical being? That word carries the assumption of fictional/made-up.
Faith in God is not in some possibly mythical being, rather than a personal God who has revealed himself chiefly through Christ Jesus.

Regarding the impossibility of turning water into wine. If you recall that you are dealing with a God who created life, then creating wine from water would be an easy task. And there are many other examples of things that are not explainable by science. The second thing that is significant is whether it is consistent with what God said he was going to do. The virgin birth of Christ was something that God said he would do, 700 years before he did, (a unique occurrence). Its why even Christians might not believe if someone claimed to be impregnated from God nowadays because it would not fit what God has said before.

Isn't it kind of bizarre that these miracle performing prophets waited ~198,000 years after the first humans came to exist before choosing to appear on earth, when if they had waited as little as 2,000 years more, they would have been alive at the same time as when video cameras and the internet exist and are widespread? Fair enough if it were at the beginning of humanity, but it was an arbitrarily short time before their presence could be filmed. Instead of making the safety of people's souls dependent on 'faith', why not just wait a little while longer and let people film these miracles?

Isn't it also bizarre that these prophets could perform miracles but were as constrained in communication method as every mortal man on earth and were therefore dependent on their messages being communicated to future humans through written eye witness testimony?

"I'm sending this prophet to save you all going to hell, but they can't use their supernatural powers to communicate with anyone they didn't directly come into contact with and you have to take the word of bronze age people whose accounts have been edited and translated countless times. No, they can't use their miracles to fulfill their purpose of spreading my word, they can only use it for turning water to wine and stuff"

It would be a bit bizarre wouldn't it haha, but that is not the case
From approx 6000 years ago Adam and Eve were the first humans and after the separation of heaven and earth, divine intervention and prophets have been sent throughout time to instruct those in the way of the Lord, in reference to Moses God gave him the laws on Mount Sinai in front of everyone yet the next thing you know the Israelites have already broken the commandment so again and again they are new laws given yet the people still break them, so the next time we see Elijah and multiple other prophets performing miracles to tell the people to repent of their sins yet the people did not listen so finally Jesus came down incarnate from the Virgin Mary to fulfil these laws and instruct people into the new way of life. It was then that Jesus's apostles received the Holy Spirit to spread the God news of the Lord, all performing miracles in Jesus's name, and referring to miracles now, history repeats itself God gave signs to all the people for century's and they didn't listen, God knows we will not listen either way, however through the sacraments such as baptism, Holy Communion there is divine intervention from the Holy Spirit which has been opened to us by the eyes of our soul and there are still many saints and monks who possess spiritual gifts in which they heal the sick etc. The place of Jerusalem is also a very Holy Site in which a annual miracle occurs at the place Jesus rose from the dead where a Holy light appears from the tomb and turns into a fire lighting the candles of the believers where the uncreated light does not burn. An explanation link is provided down below as well as video footage on youtube just search up: Holy Fire Jerusalem 1995 or 2021 etc

How does that make any sense whatsoever? There’s literally fossils of modern humans dated way before that.

The theory of science relies on consistency however when spontaneous events occur such as Noah's flood, or the tower of babel story we must take into account that these dating methods may not be accurate
