If you're planning on playing high end games, I'd buy a slower processor and use the money to buy a better videocard: X800GTO 16 / 6800GS / 7800GT etc. An X700 would considerably bottleneck a 3800+. Otherwise, it looks fairly good. How were you planning to use it?

Who knows, it may be quick enough. Its more of an issue with fighting and FPS games, really.

Thats bullshit. AMD 64s run much cooler than equivelent Pentiums. Running at stock speeds I very much doubt you could overheat a 64.

P4s run much hotter than equivalent AMD processors, meaning they need better cooling (AKA more noise). That said, the AMDs are better value for money anyway, go the 64.
