    Big Issue Vendor

LOL. Omg you guys, I'm such a terrible assassin, because since I started this thread and people started giving me more clues about his whereabouts, I've only seen him ONCE and that was outside Holme and I was in a rush so I couldn't complete my mission. Ah well, next time. I need to start...

    Big Issue Vendor

Thanks guys! For some reason, I keep missing him. I think it's because I come in later in the afternoons usually. What time do you usually see him around?

    Big Issue Vendor

Has anyone spoken to him before? What's his story? Also...if I wanted to interview him, what's the best way to approach him--buy him lunch, make him sandwiches, or just sit down with him the whole day as he sells? Does any of that sound too suss?

    Big Issue Vendor

Thanks! That makes me a little more confident about approaching him. I never bought the Big Issue from him because I get my copies from other vendors (around the city or in Parramatta), so I always felt a little guilty when I walked past him without buying anything. Do you know how often he's...

Do you know when he's usually around? I'd like to interview him for a project I'm working on.

    Taxi stand in Redfern?

I'm going for a journalism event at Redfern on Thursday, but I need to pop out in the middle of the day for a test. Is there a taxi stand near Redfern Town Hall? If not, what's the fastest way to get from there to USYD (specifically, John Woolley Building)? Also, anyone else going to this...

    Special considerations for atar

http://community.boredofstudies.org/590/general-university-sydney/231681/c-d-usyd-should-humble-give-bonus-points.html#post4796820 This is how I understand the Broadway scheme to work. So...in answer to your question, it makes sense that this works in the main round. If the allocated places...

    University Stay

Personally, I'm not a fan of share accommodation. (Maybe if it were with close friends, but even then...) Throughout high school, my mum rented out rooms to other students, and the house was never quiet and you tend to lose control over keeping the house clean, etc. I prefer privacy and peace of...

Good place to live at that is close to Usyd

Enmore is pretty good too. It shares the same postcode as Newtown but isn't that expensive. You could walk to USYD, or just catch a bus. I'm moving house to be closer to uni too. I live in Parramatta and was considering Newtown but my sister (who will be going to UNSW) wasn't a fan of Enmore...

    TIPS for writing notes

My note taking strategy is pretty much to transcribe the lecture. Although I'm quite busy writing, my brain can usually still process what my lecturers are saying, so it isn't just a case me of sitting there and not learning. However, my brain functions stops just about there, because I'm...

    Pathways to get into Usyd

Foundation study at USYD sounds good, since it gives you a stepping stone into the uni, and especially since you say it'll get you into the second year of a degree. (Not sure about this, so I'm taking your word for it.) So...what's stopping you then? It seems pretty much the obvious choice for you.

I believe it's the cut-off for this year, so it's too early to tell.

    Theatre Thread!

Gah sorry I just saw this. Yes I was super excited about the play and got like 6 other people to come with me. (I think the GYI people love me for that! Lol) The play, though, was severely disappointing. It remained stuck in the stereotypical depiction of pyschotherapy: "So...tell me how you...

C/D: USyd should be humble and give bonus points.

It doesn't work that way at USYD. If your ATAR were 92, and the cut-off for your preferred course were 97, it doesn't mean your ATAR is now 92+5. It means that because your ATAR is within the 5 point range of the cut-off, you're still eligible to be considered for the course. As you know, the...
