  • you do realise uac cut-offs and internal transfers are different right

    (oh wait, you don't)
Dude, your leaving sydney uni? saw your signature :) Anyway, congratulations, I know you've been wanting to do med since year 10.
Hi, just want to ask you something: Out of PHYS1500 vs COSC1003, which do you think would be the better choice for someone like me, whose planning on majoring in molecular bio or something similar. Was gonna post this in the general uni science section, but you mentioned PHYS1500 and ive been considering changing to that from BIOL1002 since enrolment day.
    Im taking:
    BIOL1001
    BIOL1003
    MATH1001
    MATH1002
    CHEM1001
    and
    BIOL1002
    MBLG1001
    CHEM1002
    MATH1003
    MATH1005
aye rippy, wth is the deal with not being able to do MATH1004 in first year medsci? I don't want to go to MATH1005

    dem statistics will stamp me
Bahah but you at least have a few bosers ie effy around anyways

Let me know how it works for ya - I might consider this an option but only under certain circumstances.
Yeah bro, I think it might be a good move for you man! Although I thought for the lateral entry scheme, they take the WAMs of Year 1 and 2 rather than just year 2 in your case?
    BRO

You know how you are ~possibly~ transferring to UNSW, how do they determine your WAM or whatever for first year? Is it based on your previous performance in USyd units or something? Just curious.
Hahh yea i havent really been on this site that often cause ive been busy with work and everything but also cause i dont really need it anymore hahah. I still lurk the threads andse whats interesting buy i rarely log in hahah. Im actually really suprised that someone noticed me gone
Thanks a lot for the help man, appreciate it sooo much!

I'm only researching because I don't want to make shitty decisions like HSC subjects all over again. Lul.
Hi, I've noticed that you are current studying biomed engineering/science at usyd and that is the course I am intending to choose. I'd just like to have your opinion on the course. Is it extremely challenging? And what is the difference between biomedical engineering and mechanical (biomedical) engineering?

I am clueless as to what majors, electives and units are and the difference between them so I honestly don't know where I;m supposed to start looking or choosing. I've studied Japanese cont, Adv Eng, MX1, bio and eco. I can't say I'm passionate about these subjects but I certainly do take a degree of liking for maths and bio.

Could you please shed some light and share some words of wisdom?
Apparently HSC Physics is mainly history (ew) so I'm probably just going to study prelim and maybe some bits of HSC that I think might be relevant. I'm not too sure about psychology but I'll research more into it. I wasn't too shabby with 4u mechanics :) Which unit is it mainly involved in?

Okay, I think I'll do MBLG 1001 of course with more research and such. I did pretty well in 3u (97) and when you say 70 and 71 in first sem units, that's like a mid credit right? And sorry to hear that man :( I'm sure you'll do well this year.

So far what I'm leaning to:

    MATH1901, 1902, 1903, CHEM1101 (I'll have completed HSC chem in 2 months), CHEM 1902 (if I'm confident and if it's possible), MBLG 1001 and MAYBE PHYS 1001.

How's that looking? And thanks a lot for the help man, I just don't want to get fucked over like I did with my HSC subs :(
I'm going to do BMedSc. The units I'm thinking about at the moment are the same math units as you (coincidentally), Chemistry 1A, MBLG 1001 or 1901 (I legit don't know what to do here) and not sure about the other unit yet. I did pretty shit subs lol: Std english, pdhpe, bio, 3u, 4u and business studies. I'm currently learning chemistry (almost up to HSC level) and have yet to start learning physics as well. About interests: I'm in to university mathematics and chemistry but I have a few problems:
    1. I absolutely love chemistry but I don't know if I'm going to do well in university. I've always had problems with applying knowledge in HSC biology and taking CHEM 1901 might be a risky decision. Can you some how move up?
    2. For my mathematics units, again I'm not sure whether advanced or normal. I did quite well in 3u but 4u was not too good.. (88)

Your units look fine to me though, why are they bad? Is it just too difficult, you lack interest etc?
