Is Multiple Choice marked by computer?

Maybe a shitload go through the scanner/computer, and any with more than one black spot per row are "rejected" for hand marking.

    Multiple choice-Q14

Well the working has been shown. (See Kearnzo) Concentrations -> numbers of ions -> concentrations -> pH The only way it can work.

    Multiple choice-Q14

lol, funny how the people who put C are now trying to argue that acids cannot be diluted and defy the laws of chemistry. You do realise that if the answer is C, the volumes are completely ignored, and adding any amount more water to the solution will not change the pH (by your logic)? The...

    EST HSC Exam

lol did you even look at the diagram? How else can it complete the circuit. 1200 would be wrong anyway, as it doesn't account for the circuit itself, it merely drops the voltage in the wires.

    Multiple choice-Q14

Show your working then. If you did what the OP did, you are wrong. If you disagree with the fact that you need to find CONCENTRATION, not number of H+ ions, then you are also wrong. :)
  6. I

    Multiple choice-Q14

It's B. Find the number of H+ ions remaining and divide by 50mL. Then -log it. Answer is 2.69 or something ~= 2.7 (B).

wanting 90+.. image geting 89.95 haha

Imagine how the people that get 99.75 when they wanted 99.80 feel. They'd have no choice but to slash their wrists.

    Sign out day

It's a load of shit. Took me an hour and a half to wait for head teachers, deputy, etc. Glad it's over, but the process (at least at my school) is retarded. Should be: • Return books, get signature from library • Return form to office and piss off.

    Failed my Ps.

lol, you get more bonus points for hitting them. :p

    Estimate Raw Mark

Hoping for high eighties/low nineties, ideally an aligned band 6.
  11. I

    Failed my Ps.

Headcheck if you are on the inside lane of a multilane roundabout, any other case it doesn't matter, because if there is no lane next to you, there shouldn't be a bike or car there.

    EST HSC Exam

Exactly... So you cannot have a voltage drop of anymore than 45V in the wires. The total voltage is 240V in the circuit, dropped 45V across the wires and 195V in the circuitry.
  13. I

    EST HSC Exam

I don't have it. You can only keep the multiple choice and I already posted my answers to that.

    EST HSC Exam

Yet there is an agriculture one. They obviously knew what exams were on today, probably just hate engineers. :p
  15. I

    EST HSC Exam

Awesome. Also another way to think of it is that if you account for the wires only, then when you reverse the process (V=IR), the whole 240V is dropped across the wires, meaning nothing else can be in the circuit. So yeah I think we did it right. :)

    EST HSC Exam

Ah yeah, the drawings were crap. My pictorial was kinda "eh it'll do" job. I think the water one was half-length. Reason being is the rod is half the density of water, so requires twice the volume of water to displace that volume. Hence, 50mm for a 100mm rod.

    EST HSC Exam

The height would be 1200m if you simply divided voltage by current to get resistance. I think if you put 2400 you forgot to account for 2 wires. I crossed that out and redid it, accounting for the voltage drop. The circuitry required 195V, meaning 45V could be dropped in the wires, allowing...

    Q 26, transformer

Oh I get what you mean now, yeah. If the coils weren't overlapping, I guess there would still be some flux transfer and there might be a spark. :)
  19. I

    Q 26, transformer

No... The input voltage is the same for each so it's irrelevant. Either arrangement has the same amount of primary coils conducting, and to flow through the secondary coil, all coils must also conduct. All that's being varied is how many secondary coils are exposed to magnetic flux. I think it...

    Whos studying now?

Yep. There's usually a couple of moments questions - one for civil and the other could be for transport or aero usually.
