    Autumn Results 2006

Hi everyone! It's been a while! Anyways as you all know results are released 9am on Monday 17th July. Anxious as I am I just went to check the results page of platform web. While the results themselves are not up my GPA and credit points completed has changed. I am just wondering if anyone...

    Islam

I don't think it's your place to say that, there are converts to EVERY religion and that is just a fact. Plenty of people in their right mind have BECOME Muslim, and I don't know how much you actually know about the religion (which isn't stereotypical of course of driven by the media) but Islam...

    La Fiamma

Ciao a tutti, I need copies of La Fiamma editions from the 50s and 60s to do various case studies on Italian immigrants at that time. Does anyone know where I can get copies or have a look at them? I live in Sydney, but at the moment would be happy to know anywhere that would give me access...

    Swap Tutorials- B Communication

I really don't think asking on here is your best bet. They won't be too hard on you as a first year so just ask on your first day. Usually the lecturer will ask (at the end of the lecture) for everyone who was unable to register to come forward and sort it out with them. Same thing happens in...

    Happily registered :)

Most tutes are limited to a certain number due to OH&S regulations, so they can't go over a certain number, depending on space etc. It took me 5 minutes to register this morning...which is sooo unusual because I'm used to waiting for hours! All you need to do is log on early and go to the...

Time break periods between lecture and tutorial

As a first year I had a 4 hour break between a lecture and tutorial...and after a semester of that I can tell you it's better do get in and out as fast as possible! It's good to have a little bit of a break if you have two subjects in a day (i.e. 2 lectures and 2 tutorials) just to get your head...

Time break periods between lecture and tutorial

yeah that's what I'd suggest, imo the tutorial straight after the lecture is the best one to be in...and everything should be fresh in your mind and make discussing easier. If you only have a lecture and a tute in a row you don't need a break...lectures are pretty easy to sit through and 2 1/2...

    Textbooks

Hey, As I posted in another thread a while back ISBN stands for International Standard Book number and every edition or version of a book will have a different ISBN. Reprints of the same book do not have a different ISBN however, though a modified reprint should. So if they have the same...

    About TFN

Yes, you just fill out another form and hand it in at the student centre once you have your TFN. You'll have no problems provided that you do so by the census date of 31st March. If you're not sure what to do just ask at your student centre and they will point you in the right direction ;)

Disadvantage going to UWS? or not?

Getting a lower UAI and getting into UWS does not guarantee anybody a degree. A degree is something you have to work for and earn regardless of what university you attend. If they are as lazy as you say they are, then perhaps they will not satisfy UWS' minimum requirements and be put on...

    Book lists up

Following on from that if you are going to buy your books from somewhere other than the co-op check the ISBN (the International Standard Book Number) Doing this, and making sure that the one on the co-op website (listed under the book's details) and the one you purchase correlate will ensure...

    defering

you're welcome, if you have any questions just ask, or visit the UAC website, it may have some useful info! :)
  17. Jacks

    defering

you have to reapply through UAC, the same way as you would as a school leaver, when you fill out the online form or whatever you will be asked if you have defered, you simply indicate yes for this question and continue the form as normal

    communications in uws

I do BA Comm, which is pretty close to what you'll be doing as both degrees share core units. I can't comment on why it would be "wiser" to go to UWS but I can say that there is nothing wrong with UWS and you shouldn't be unhappy with getting an offer there, a degree is a degree, and if you do...

    Info bout BA

I'm sure of all the majors as I do communications but I know you can major in english, text and writing (which is also a major within comm) which includes all sorts of writing classes, philosophy etc. You can major in Languages, Psychology...you name it! The list of subjects is extremely...

    Info bout BA

As a first year you should expect an introductory week where you get unit outlines explaining what each unit is about and what will be learnt/due each week. Usually they try and ease you into it the first week and everything will be explained to you. Your first tutorial for each unit should be...
