    2007 Jerseys

My school's saying that we're only allowed to wear it starting from the trials period next year, even if they arrive earlier. Or wear it on mufti days. <.< ... Right. And I can't really think of a name either. :( I have a feeling that it's just gonna be something really...random..x.x

Distinction Courses, Doing it? Done it?

Your school gives you a test that solely counts for your internal mark? :O Anyhow, good luck Amaybro :) Hope you make it in :D

My friend has stuffed up his hsc lol

He could still make it up with the rest of his exams :uhhuh: It really sucks that now he's bound to feel depressed about his HSC, but tell him that it's best to pretend it never happened since he can't do anything about it now anyway, just concentrate on the other exams and don't let it affect...

are we allowed to use "&"?

I guess you could use it in titles of texts like "Pride & Prejudice", as sometimes they are distributed to the public named as such. Just don't use the symbol to replace the word "and" in the middle of your sentence eg. the word both reinforces the previous idea and suggests... PS. But it...

    Graph help!!!

In fact, this asymptote exists for any constant a where x3+y3=a3 :) This is because, after putting y as the subject, y = (a3-x3)1/3 = [-x3(-a3/x3+1)]1/3 = -x(-a3/x3+1)1/3 And as x approaches +/- infinity, -a3/x3 approaches zero, thus -a3/x3+1 approaches 1. Therefore, the value of y approaches...

    Revising subject choices... help

I've been doing French for years 8-11 and I'm not even sure about keeping it now :o Scaling shouldn't be the ONLY thing you look at, but it should be taken into consideration sometimes. If you know that you could get about the same marks for two subjects, one scales up while the other scales...

    How was your school day?

:uhhuh: Rather than the fact that I'm "in year 12" *shifty eyes* :p

    need advice please

If you've already read all the other advice thread and still can't decide, just do it. You can always drop anyway if you don't like it. :p

It is not as hard as the HSC

The subject itself is not boring. Just when they give these syllabus points that seem...a little irrelevant :p

    Limits question

    Hmm. You're right. :)

If one of my classmate tops NSW, will that help my results?

Depends on the gap between you and him, and how much was the 2nd highest external mark from your school, I guess.

    Suicide

I feel so sorry for those who knew her :( You shouldn't commit suicide, anyhow. That's such an irresponsible thing to do. Your parents gave you your life to live it to the full and actually be of some help to this world, they didn't bring you up to nearly 20 years old just to have you kill...

    Limits question

I was gonna do that at first, but you have x as the denominator for one of the terms so I suppose you can't really just sub x=0 in :p

It is not as hard as the HSC

And for some, *coughPhysics:mad1:cough*, the syllabus is even more boring :S

    Regarding joining 4U...

Fine. Explanation. Whatever word serves your fancy. XD

    Limits question

I somehow don't think that, when x and y are two functions of which the values approach infinity at the limit, lim(x-y)=0...I mean, infinity is not a number o.0 :p My try is to first apply the half-angle rule, so (cos x)-1 = -2sin2(x/2). Therefore, lim [(cos x)-1]/x x->0 = lim...
