Excuse me for barging into an HSC thread :p But yeah, physics is more interesting than chemistry :) I don't hate chem though :D

    How was your school day?

"Kids"? Let me remind you that you're one of the younger ones of 07ers, m0ofin :p Anyhow, my day was alright. Bludged the first three periods away with school assembly and year assembly. Bleh, year 12. HSC course starts next week. ... Didn't sink in yet. o.0 Then had three normal...

    Induction Help!

Do you have to use induction? It kinda seems unnecessary here o.0 Just think about it like this: Take any vertex of the polygon. Then to make a diagonal, you need to connect it to another vertex, other than itself and the two vertices already connected to it by two sides of the polygon ie. the...

    A Bearing qn.

^No, as the bearing of 205 degrees is measured from the North line that points upwards in the clockwise direction :) EDIT: I was replying to bos1234. SS is too quick :p

Which SC/trial subjects are you going to screw up? Discuss.

One word of advice goes for history: CRAM. :p

    Decision making process in Geo?

From what I remember from last year (I did "coastal management" and "urban growth and decline" at school though, but the decision making process should be the same), here are just a few points: - to ensure social justice and equity, all perspectives need to be considered before development...

    derivative?

Or you can differentiate it with respect to some other variable of which t is a function, say x, then the derivative would be (dt/dx)/60 :p

Which SC/trial subjects are you going to screw up? Discuss.

^Uhh, don't tell me that means someone let their friend copy off them for a test... Anyhow, good luck everyone for your SC :)

^We don't get our report till term 4 either. Apparently the teachers need more time to write them up <.<

What kind of stuf u can't take into the HSC?

    myth busters---2006 hsc

 Cramming should help, but only for subjects where loads of theory is tested eg. IPT. For subjects that require more skills and techniques, I'd say cramming's not the way to go :p

    Help?

Right. So we all agree that the question and the answer don't match. Problem solved. ... See, I just needed a definite answer from someone :p
  17. airie

Which SC/trial subjects are you going to screw up? Discuss.

I still make stupid mistakes :o But when I stare at the test paper scrutinising it to bits making absolutely sure I don't, mostly I don't :p You WILL have enough time in the SC to do that, trust me :) EDIT: To scrutinise the paper I mean, not to make stupid mistakes <.<

IB (at private school) or HSC (at selective school)??

    Wow. That sounds kinda unfair.

    Locus qn.

You could put it into the parametric form (2at, at2) and so the point (-8, 16) is the point where t=-4 (as a=1 from the equation x2=4y). So the gradient of the tangent at the point is its parameter ie. -4, which means that of the normal is 1/4. Then use the point-gradient form, the equation of...
