    About Monash/campuses

Hi, I am looking to transfer universities and Monash is one the ones I am interested in because of its Melbourne location. I was just wondering if anyone could tell me a bit about the uni. I noticed that the main campus is a fair way from the central area of Melbourne, so what is it like in...

    open day

They are if you are in the area...or severely undecided. I personally wouldn't fly out of my way for one but I would not attend a university without visiting it first, whether it be open day, tour, or just wandering around a deserted campus in January. I like getting the feel of places. Hope...

    What are my chances

    What are my chances

It should be pretty easy for you to work out yourself. Your GPA will not be taken into consideration, so it will just be based on your UAI and whatever else you use to get in. There is a .pdf in the stickies section (maybe the bottom one?) that includes a list of GPA to entrance rank, as well as...

    Fcuked up big time.?

Hey I think everyone should be a bit nicer. This guy is aware that he screwed up and he is asking for advice, not judgement. If you failed because of super exceptional circumstances I believe in some situations some things can be removed from your record. At least that is what I have heard. I...

    Fcuked up big time.?

Yeah I understand, something times things just get bad and you don't realise it until its too late, or you run away from your problems and ignore the consequences until its too late. I do that. Your situation is this: you have a bad GPA. You will not be able to transfer with this. If you got...

    Application Question

I was under the impression that for Australian tertiary type things you didn't have to provide documentation - they generally have access to your results directly from the university. As they take each of the results of your units into account rather than your actual qualification then I...

    What are my chances

I have no idea what you are going on about. You did the HSC in 2009 but already have university subjects? Please write your question clearly if you want it to be answered.

    Application Question

Depends what you mean by count. Yes, they will take into consideration your results up until the end of 2009 when looking at your application rank/elegibility/whatever. If you mean count as use your Arts subjects at another university then that generally depends on the university. If you...

    When does UAC open?

I don't like the new layout. $52. That's unreasonable. That is like close to two weeks of food budget for me. We're students, not crazy people who know what money is. I don't even get $200 a week, and I have to pay $52 for UAC, and I don't want to know how much VTAC is. I have to pay for that...

    NRSL EAS forms

I am under the impression that you just apply through UAC. It shouldn't make a difference that you are a NRSL - wouldn't you just put the correct year of when you finished year 12 on the form? I could be wrong - I would either lodge an application on UAC and see if that does it, or contact...

    Replacement UAI/Year 12 Certification

I plan on transferring and one of the places I am applying is directly to university of Wollongong. Apparently I need submit documents of my year 12 and UAI. I haven't lost my documents but they are in a box somewhere in a storage unit in Australia and I am in New Zealand. The ACT BSSS...

    When does UAC open?

The more I think about it the more it annoys me that we have to pay to apply for universities. I mean us going there gives them money, they should be tempting us with free application. There is just something about UAC that annoys. I really don't know why, I think it is like the place when I...

How do you go about it?

UAC applications open this Friday. You apply now if you want to start first semester 2010. Applications close on the 30th September.

    When does UAC open?

Well thank you, you are full of secret information :P Friday, that's kind of weird. Good I guess. Now i'm stressed. I wish we could apply to all universities individually, it would make life so much better, and you could have so many options. Plus I like filling in forms.

    When does UAC open?

I know I've got two months to apply, but the paranoid person in my likes to know what is going on... Anyway does anyone know when UAC opens? VTAC opened on the third, and QTAC (or whatever its called) opened in July. The website says it opens in "early August" and to check in early August...

    Changing University Pre Req's

That sucks. I imagine they can do it, they can pretty much do whatever they want. Yeah. Maybe they'll overlook it, or maybe you'll have to try another university.

    B Arts UWS TRANSFER to B Arts @ USYD/UNSW

Hey, read the stickies, they have a conversion from GPA to entrance rank which is then averaged out with your UAI. The first year entry for USYD is 83 entrance for Arts, so you are going to need pretty high for that. Although this is all theoretical.

Primary school teaching at Usyd or ACU?

Re: Teaching overseas I believe its not so much the 'degree' thats recognised, more the being registered as an Australian teacher. I was looking at studying education in New Zealand and then coming back to Australia, or even going over to Europe, after my degree. They informed me that it was...

Is the Good Uni Guide that reliable?

I don't really know much about the Good Uni Guide in particular, but I find the best way to see if a guide or rating system is valid is to check how they evaluate the university. A lot of them do a mix heavily based on review by other university academics, or something like that, also the awards...
