    Homosexuality in Australia

What is the difference between two homosexuals, and two heterosexuals who choose to have a vasectomy AND Tubal ligation? "are their relationships equally invalid and detrimental?"

People's reactions when you say "I study Psychology"

As a first year student we know shit all. But I'm flattered if people think we could 'read' them, lol.

People's reactions when you say "I study Psychology"

Lol...all the experiments have to go through ethics committees first. But shock therapy sounds a little more fun than some of the boring questionnaires ;).

People's reactions when you say "I study Psychology"

Has anyone noticed when someone asks what you study at Uni, and you say "Psychology" - there is a little moment of awkwardness, maybe a strange look or silence? WHY? Is there something wrong with Psychology? Or studying Psychology? (I'm talking about public perceptions, i.e. don't troll about...

    Snobberry at university

That's cringeworthy..can you elaborate more on how the people from UNSW actually acted?

When can we enrol in 2010 S1 classes?

11th Jan enroll in Units, 28th Jan Register in classes. So I guess that means that (as the names would suggest), we can enrol in units on the 11th, but can't actually select our classes/make a timetable, until the 28th. (I guess during the period between enrolment and registration the class...

    Uws vs usyd

Is UWS (Campbelltown) close? If it is close and you want to do Physiotherapy, then I don't know why you wouldn't want to go to UWS. Since it is at Campbelltown and you need physiology/anatomy, I assume you will be sharing resources with the MED students so it can't be that bad. And it looks...

    usyd vs unimelb for arts

Just go to Sydney, omg. You live in Sydney. Please, for undergraduate Arts there is no need to go to Melbourne.

    Should I repeat year 12?

Do NOT repeat the HSC. God....too risky...getting into a better school will not make your marks necessarily go higher. What was your UMAT score?

    Ba Commerce + Ba Law

You/we don't actually know what the cut off is though..I know it is probably going to be stable from last year (though not necessarily), but the way a lot of you talk - you make it seem as if MQ use the cut-offs from last year to select the people for the next year...it doesn't work like this...

There are draft timetables for next year's classes

tablet PC to write notes on powerpoint

True. Perhaps we'll have to wait until 2011 then for a software update :P.

tablet PC to write notes on powerpoint

I doubt Apple are stupid enough to make it as functional (or lackthereof) as an iPod Touch..

tablet PC to write notes on powerpoint

Apple are rumoured to release a Tablet next year...(based on the iPhone OS though). You may want to wait, as it could be the next 'big thing'.

What course do you have to take if you want to be a performer?

I was looking at the units a while ago and didn't see anything too interesting, though it does appear they have a couple of vocal performance units (which seems very appropriate for the OP's needs), so I 'concede' :P - as a typical a BOS poster who makes silly claims based on almost nothing...

    about an english major?

"What do you do with a BA in English? What is my life going to be? Four years of college, and plenty of knowledge Have earned me with this useless degree I can't pay the bills yet 'cuz i have no skills yet.." From Avenue Q.

    teaching or psychology???

Well the 'word on the street' is that having an undergraduate Psych degree without postgraduate training is not the best for job prospects (you aren't a Psychologist), so I'd consider what you actually want out of each degree (Teaching or Psych) before you choose.

    A question from a potential 2010 student

A GPA of 3 at Macquarie would be a credit average..(so 65%+) (consider it's not the same as getting 65% in HSC of course (where the marks are aligned significantly upwards, usually).

Medicine after 1 year of uni

UNSW 1/2 UAI 1/2 GPA you will need at or above a distinction average, I think, to be very competitive with that UAI. UWS, you don't need to worry about GPA. You need above 95 OR a credit average, and you satisfy the first. UNCLE, 'close to a credit average'. Only UNSW will getting a higher...
