    Economic or Commerce??

Not at all. Its just a case of there being "professional bodies" for accountants (e.g ICAA, CPA) which you need to join/accepted by after completing particular course programs. Or if you want to work in finance you join the FIAA (I think?) etc etc. The commerce degree allows you to be...

    HSC 2002 School Rankings

We only had 70...its done on a percentage basis so the size of the school doesn't matter.

    Combined Law

i.e if you know u want to do law, put the preference down...they only ask you wat combination you'll do with it at enrolment (for usyd and unsw at least).

    What's Sydney like?

SUDS (sydney uni dramatic society) is the oldest in the country and has its own the theatre (the cellar theatre) on campus. They often have plays that members have written/directed/star in and there's a week (I think) where they just showcase a whole lot of short plays by members. Meh...

    categories of development

I think some textbooks use "developing" to denote "less developed countries"...politically correctness perhaps? i personally referred to LDC's (which matched ur description of developing), NICs, transition and HDC's, but there were some (like India and Mexico) which were middle of the range...

Oh wow...That's so weird. You'd have my best friend's handwriting in ur notes then (she came first). That's rather creepy actually.

    req: eco notes.:.

Careful bout those band 6 responses...they're borderline responses, not the *best* responses. Marker comments are more useful.

    difference between arts and commerce?

Hehe asq....was that a pointed reference at me? I dont necessarily argue *either* is better, but i was inundated with raised eyebrows and curious glances when i declared i wanted to go to usyd comm/law and i dont think they were justified.

    religiousness of usyd

Wow thats pretty cool...pretty stupid as well. I know the thought of snowboarding makes me feel sick at what it could do to my knees....Oh well melbournian, hopefully u'll have the opportunity to enjoy the delights of subski soon enough :p

    Alternate way into Law

Hehehe business isn't that bad... Fade: what are u interested in? Because no matter how many career opportunities something may or may not provide, if you don't like doing it, do u really want a career in it? If you don't *like* commerce, you shouldn't do it - too many people in my course are...

can MP be refered to as non./discretionary?

monetary policy is discretionary in that the RBA does determine what the i.r's will be. I suppose if u wanted to be all philosophical about it, u could say that interest rates that actual prevail in the market can be non-discretionary depending on bond yields etc...but thats not monetary policy...

    UNSW Union Elections

Hehe usyd didnt have below/above the line options...Just 200 candidates to choose from  and 4 election papers. So don't be complaining too quickly! I spent more time trying to explain to ppl how it all worked than anything else :p

    difference between arts and commerce?

Ummm i know *a* grace, i dont know if its *your* grace ;) What school do u go to? Sorry asq...I'll stop. For the sake of the survival of the uni crush thread ;) Or do architecture/law, apparently unsw offers it :p
  18. timmii

    difference between arts and commerce?

unsw doesnt offer it. a lot of my friends do it and really like it.

    difference between arts and commerce?

TIB: Do economics and social sciences. Its commercey with arts subjects. e.g economics, political economy, government etc, without having to do accounting and information systems. It's not 80-90% arts at usyd btw. It felt like that initially, but i think its a much more even split now.
