    External Stability

It's up to you i suppose. Depends on whether you subscribe to the notion that foreign debt itself is not a problem as long as it is being used to improve domestic productive capacity... Or you can phrase external stability as maintaining a sustainable CAD to ensure Australia's capacity to...

    makeup for the formal

Jess - go to grace bros or david jones and get one of the makeup counters to do ur makeup for you or ask their opinion because its hard to advise from the net... I also have really fair skin, and i had a dark blue dress. I just had dark eyeshadow and a bit of blush (and some foundation which...

    Political Economy

I haven't heard that...It's really popular (most of my friends do it). Are you sure you're not confusing it with economic history which just got shunted to the arts department? Where did u get your info from? Check www.econ.usyd.edu.au if in doubt and email the relevant person if you're really...

    External Stability

Hmmmm maybe something along the lines of: "A sustainable current account deficit, exports being able to finance imports and a stable exchange rate."

    tois question about double degrees

Also scholarships may be inflexible about changing from the course for which you initially applied. Even if its not a faculty scholarship.

    Good ranking schools

Are you talking about the "league table" published after HSC last year, or some arbitrary list? I'd say top 30 from last year's list would probably be advantageous...with a few caveats of course. Not much help to be bottom of a good school as opposed to top of a mediocre school! Doesn't have...

    Suv

SUV doesn't seem to have the same community life associated with it as college - but I'm sure it'll be lots of fun and you'll make the most of it :)

    economics/agru econmics & math

Good understanding of calculus would be helpful to do well in micro-economics, but you can get by without it. Econometrics B (which is not compulsory) requires calculus as well (though it does quickly revise it if you've forgotten the basics about turning points  ). Being able to...

    law at usyd or unsw?

Hey up until january 3rd 2003 i was almost at unsw law...I think its a great place. If thats right for her, she should go there. I'm just saying that theres this public perception that usyd commerce is inferior, and i think that is unfairly exaggerated and inaccurate :p Hehe of course i'm...

    law at usyd or unsw?

*sigh* i almost weaned myself off it completely....and then i don't know what happened! I think i felt an urgent need to procrastinate :( *sigh* Like now...stupid law assignment ;)

    law at usyd or unsw?

TIB: It is often said that UNSW commerce is more private sector based while usyd commerce is more public sector based, but i really don't think that is the case any more. USyd accounting and finance have the greatest links to the ASX and professional bodies. I'm not sure about marketing...

    International Law

Hehe, i'm cynical about student guides in general! :D Thankfully i have yet to be deceived on subject content. Commerce courses are as unexciting as they promised them to be! :p ;) :D Oh dear...where's the enthusiasm gone? :(

what is your worst subject at uni?

    It's not *that* bad....feel better? :p

    International Law

Just keep convincing urself that  *desperately searches for measuring tape and submits uac form to change courses...* I think we have the most electives in international law or something like that. I remember them trying to sell it to me that way on one of the open days...?

    Commerce/Arts vs Commerce(Liberal Studies)

I don't know if it is more "popular". I think it has a higher UAI because there are very few places in it, whilst to do commerce/arts you just pick the commerce course code - so you can't really tell how many people are doing that. The commerce/arts road gives you two distinct degrees. You...

So Year 12s .. what's your first preference??

    International Law

I think unsw has the asia pacific law centre, but usyd has the greatest focus/most electives/specialisation in international law...or so they say

    Equal first rank.. implications?

I have (or rather my friend has, but I'm retelling it...) an excellent story to illustrate the effect of equal first ranks. My friend (lets call her...1) ranked equal first with another friend (for convenience, lets call her 2) at school in studies of religion. If 1 sat the exam and got an...

    International Law

'international law' isn't a legal system, every country would teach its own legal system...Like Kini said, you need to understand the basics of law and the principles of it - torts, criminal, contract etc before you can start thinking on an even grander scale.
