Ahhh it's irrelevant now cos i've had the interview. It wasn't that bad actually, i liked the whole "group" aspect of it, made it sooooo less nerve racking. Plus i knew everything they were gonna throw at me thanks to FadeToBlack :D

What did people write for the creative response? I'm hell worried, i didn't know what they were looking for. Mine turned into an almost self-help guide on the forms and benefits of retreat :( Each paragraph was on a different paradigm or form of retreat e.g. search for ancestral history, culture...

as far as i know, you need band 6 in 10 units, so in your case the 11th unit wouldnt matter. however, someone correct me if i'm wrong.

So you only have one related text? there is a HIGH chance you'll need two, so i realllly recommend you find one, even if you fudge most of it or just mention it briefly. I dont think they've ever asked for just "one" related text.

If it specified to do FIVE, and you did four, then you couldnt get into the top band. It wouldnt be meeting the criteria. other than that you wouldn't be completely penalised.

I didnt know they could specify personal devotion, cos in the syllabus it says you need to know TWO categories of rites, so ours were passage and public worship. we'd never learnt personal devotion either. lucky it was only 1 mark.

question 1 was (d) Smoking ceremony as kinship is a system of relationships so it has little to do with religion and couldnt really be given a place on "worship" in Christianity. I thought Question 5 was Immigration, as a HELLOVA lot of countries with catholics in them immigrated around that...

I did 9 too - i think a lot of people would have done it! I HAD to cos i couldn't answer any other question!!! I'm sure it won't matter when they mark it though. They probably expect it to happen with at least one essay every year.

Most subjects scale down, so really what you should be more worried about is how MUCH they scale down. Of corse legal isn't going to scale well compared to say, 4 unit maths! however, it has relatively normal scaling, better than a whole bunch of subjects such as business studies etc. So...

Ok, when you have a hard exam, alignment will usually save your mark so as far as the HSC goes, you come out on top. However, UAC uses your RAW marks for the UAI, so what happens if your exam was particularly hard? Will the scaling be less severe? Is there anything to save you?
