All these people getting everything paid for by their parents... am i the only one paying for it all myself? I thought it was the norm for everyone to just get a job and become independent until i came on here.

Arts/law probably. Or just arts perhaps. I KNOW writing isn't exactly the most likely thing to combine with such degrees, but i really want to do it and there is nothing even CLOSE at sydney. the guy i spoke to said quite a few people have done it with media/writing units cos there are so few...

I thought you could do it in second semester? Oh well, i can wait til second year, there's no rush. yeah they don't have the units at sydney, they are the one's that suggested it to me actually, so hopefully they'll approve. I don't know about mac if i end up there instead.

Does anyone do this? Is it hard to have approved? I want to do some media/writing units at UTS, but i'll be actually enroled and studying at either macquarie or sydney. Just wondering if anyone knows more about it/does it themselves and is it worth it? :confused:

Next year there will be about 250 places, but if i did arts and tried to transfer into arts/law in 2005, is there a chance they may have changed by then, cutting down places and making a transfer more impossible than it already is???

Do i... a) do arts/law at macquarie where i meet the UAI OR b) Do arts at sydney uni then try and transfer into arts/law, taking a HUGE risk but a worthwhile one if it works out. :confused:

I can't decide between UYSD or macquarie for Arts/law. Sydney is better for "law" but macquarie is soooo much more flexible for arts and has more things i want to do. I can get into macquarie with my UAI, whereas sydney i'd have to do arts and transfer but sydney has offered me a scholarship...

How vital is uni reputation? I got 98, would I be better off to go to somewhere like ClubMac or wollongong to do arts/law where i meet the cut-off, or is it worth going to somewhere like USYD or UNSW and trasnfering into law after one year? I know i need a distinction average or a bit less...

Anyone heard of this course? Anyone do it/know what it's like? "Writing and contemporary cultures" is a funky title but i have no idea what it's about.

So just re-checking, has anyone heard about the distinction scholarships for 95+ and 98+ UAI's that you had to apply for in september with all this crap promoting yourself?

I dunno really, i just presumed renting your own place would cost heaps, especially in sydney. I have nothing to back that up. I guess maybe cos on campus all your furniture, appliances etc etc is set up for you, whereas renting you have to buy it all yourself? Maybe i would be better off...

Has anyone else not found anywhere to live while at uni next year? I live a billion miles from ANY university, i have't been accepted to any accommodation places yet cos i applied pretty late, and i don't know if i can afford to find an apartment and start from scratch. Anyone??? :confused:

So has no one heard about the 95+, 98+ scholarships? The ones you had to apply for in september. Ahhh i have no hope. Although i did get offered an Access one, i found out monday if that is any help.
