    Omg Hsc Very Sooon!

(about memorising essays...) i know exactly where you're both coming from, and that's why i put *not*. i agree totally that there's too much emphasis on it especially in english and i've heard it's similar with the histories too. memorisation is unfortunately a technique used too often...

    contiki

i've always thought contiki tours would be a great way to get a taste of overseas countries, however, i don't think i would fit in with the whole "youth party" scene. i've heard that the visits to cities are very short and while you get to see it, it's not quite the same as spending a few days...

    Omg Hsc Very Sooon!

yes, that is a point. :) :p but still, it shouldn't be this HUGE burden on everyone... i think there's too much competition and not enough focus on the real achievements of students. memorising essays is *not* necessarily an achievement.

90+ UAI what subject did you do?

i guess it's about how much work you're willing to put in, motivation and determination. i did advanced english, mathematics, spanish continuers, community/family studies and society & culture. i got 3 band 6s, a band 5 and a 4. a friend of mine did advanced english, mathematics...

What are your weightings for trials for each subject from greatest to smallest...

yeh uni exams seem to be at LEAST 50%. Don't forget, though, that these exams are only part of a TOTAL contributor of 50%. Your (moderated) assessment is 50% and your external exam is 50%. :)

    Omg Hsc Very Sooon!

there is always one in the crowd that likes to freak everyone out :p yes, the exams are important, but they certainly are NOT the be all and end all. you'll be surprised next year, or even as soon as you finish, that there is more to life than the hsc. at the moment (and i was exactly the...

    Content Analysis?

yes, it would be. :) therefore, there is a difference between secondary research and content analysis. so long as you are providing the information ABOUT the analysis (sort of like how you do in English - use evidence to back up statements). ;)

    so

i'm at uni 5 days a week this semester, but not full on days. for instance on fridays i only have to go for maths from 3-5pm (which kinda sucks, but noone in their right mind would WANT that tute!!) this is the only disadvantage of being a small uni. i found that driving there cuts out a...

OK so who else hasnt started??

yeh the feeling you get when you finish the HSC is pretty good, but the feelings closest to that (well it was for me, anyway), were: 1. clicking PRINT on PIP.doc :p 2. handing my PIP into school 3. writing on the cover (a fancy cover the BOS gives you!) 4. sending it away :D keep your...

OK so who else hasnt started??

GET A WRIGGLE ON!!! One month ago I would've said something like "as long as you start now, you'll be fine." You've passed that time, and now have LESS THAN ONE MONTH to do it!! Not meaning to sound mean but you've had this for 8 months or something, surely you have SOMETHING you could write...

If it's a quote, I don't see why you couldn't quote it without using the stars. The PIP is different to the English Ext 2 project in that it's research based (unless the Eng Ext 2 candidate was doing one of those case study things). So it's not like a story where you can just add in a few...

    Case Studies

A case study is "a detailed study of an individual or a small group". It includes observations, interviews, and surveys. Basically you are focusing your attention on the individual or small group getting as much information as you can. :)

    Management Strategies

it depends on the "something" you choose, but basically: Planning is basically all the preparation, including goal making, prioritising and moving forward to begin organising. Organising is when you put things into place the things that are needed for the plan to be implemented...

    Uni Social life?

during the breaks, we go to the cafeteria and have a coffee/hot chocolate and chat about uni stuff, lecturers, work, etc. etc. uni gives you a lot more freedom, so you have to have a lot of self-discipline to know when it's time to stop the socialising and start working!! :D (libraries are...
