    Lecture pad or exercise book

well that stinks. :p i bought lecture pads, so they aren't as bulky down the left hand side and i can easily tear out the pages and put them into binders under their appropriate subject. :) btw: i edited my post before because i totally contradicted myself! :o

    Lecture pad or exercise book

being left handed isn't as uncommon as you may think so why shouldn't we be accommodated too??

hehehe you don't want to be moving too fast through those verbs!! :p i'm sure the teacher is doing this to prepare you for something useful and important (well we hope so, anyway!!) :)

    O Week

i enjoyed the orientation day on monday - but i think everyone is still shy (including me!) although i met a few nice people in my workshops today which was nice. :) and i met cro_angel and her friends so that was pretty cool too!! :D the workshops are good but they were finishing early...

    O Week

yeah i think i'll go every day. i was going to stay home on wednesday but i have nothing better to do. i've got to get my brain working again - it's been too long!! :D it means catching a 6:43 train to get to strathfield at 7:38 with 20mins to walk up to the uni. hey, the...

    Phantom of the Opera

huh??!! you're kidding, right?? i thought the movie was awesome - it was pulled off really well. as for those saying "they could've cut out some of the songs", hello, Phantom of the Opera is a MUSICAL, it's the same if you were to say "the Sound of Music should've had more talking and...

    Lecture pad or exercise book

i looked at buying one of those but i didn't think it would give me enough room to write everything in it for a whole subject. i'll probably stick with the binded lecture pads - won't get squashed in my bag when i'm travelling to and fro. :uhhuh:

    what would you do?

another thought... is the non-award at macquarie going to cost you?? because you could be in a hecs place deferring this year, which would most likely (depending on how you go) get you into social science. so it might be more convenient to take the community welfare spot for financial reasons. :)

    what would you do?

community welfare. uws has a guaranteed internal course transfer scheme, and with community welfare being similar to social science, you might find subjects overlap and you may end up getting credit for them anyway. :uhhuh:

    Enrolment & orientation

i just found THE best page on ACU's intranet: click me! according to this, every subject has 2 hours of lectures and 1 hour of tutorials every week. so for the B Ed (Prim)-ers :p that means 15 hours every week in our first year. :) now maybe we can work out this timetable.... :D

    Enrolment & orientation

yeah, there's probably a simple explanation for it. and yes, thursdays are our prac days!! how exciting!! hopefully i'll be able to get a school closer to home so i don't have to travel too far every week :) i guess all that sort of stuff will have to be organised soon - maybe o...

    Enrolment & orientation

i think i figured the timetable out for primary ed. ours is Prim 1 cos we're in our first year. then it looks like there are 8 (?) tutorial groups, so i guess we'd pick one group... and everyone attends the same lectures. i could be, and probably am, wrong!! :p orientation has info on...

    Lecture pad or exercise book

yeah, that's what i've been told anyway, could be statistically wrong, but it wouldn't be by much i don't think!! my plan is to sit on the left hand side of the auditorium, so i can twist to the right and sort of be facing the right way as well. :) i guess we could always turn a side-bound...

    Lecture pad or exercise book

lol, there's no bar at ACU, so it should be ok!! :p i'll keep an eye out for those top-bound spiral pads because they would be great!! i'll have to find out whether or not there are left handed desks in the auditorium otherwise i'll just have to twist a bit to the right :) it's not fair...

    Lecture pad or exercise book

who's a lefty and finds spiral bound books hard to write on?? at the moment, i'm looking at a lecture pad that's just bound normally down the side, but one i can still take pages out to put in folders. hopefully orientation week will give an idea of how people work this whole organisation...

Are Cut-Offs Over-Rated? Has anyone noticed the exageration of the Cut-Offs?

as i've said before, your UAI is like a ticket. some people get tickets to go further (i.e. courses with higher cutoffs) than others. that doesn't mean you have to use it all. i agree with daiana, because i've always thought that if you go into a course just because you got enough UAI points...

    Enrolment & orientation

lol, that's what i thought too!! but when people were invited to talk to the course co-ordinator, i was surprised at how many of them went down to the Primary Ed co-ordinator!! i was in and out of the auditorium in half an hour - if this is how organised ACU is all the time, i'm loving it...
