Knowing a few people who got in via contacts and probably wouldnt have got in without them (but they were from usyd/unsw etc), uni/marks are not that important. Find some contacts, that is your best bet.

If you want to do tax, then do accounting and law. It's hard to do tax if you dont have an accounting background.

A credit in Engineering is not bad. There are a much higher proportion of students in my engineering class who are repeating the subject compared to my other classes.

Are you that cheap? I work in an office, so can print large notes (hundreds of pages) for free, but most of my notes I print at home, and I wouldnt bother changing fonts.
