    Elizabethtown..love it? loath it?

Cameron Crowe was a fool to use Legolas. No good can ever come of Orlando Bloom's involvement in any movie. I'm so disappointed. I was hoping Crowe would redeem himself after Vanilla Sky to give us another Almost Famous, Say Anything or even Singles. Kirsten Dunst though, was pretty good. Her...

Sarah Michelle Gellar was so hot in this movie. Other than that.. meh. That reminds me, I've gotta get out Dangerous Liaisons this week.

Australia's qualification to the World Cup (Analysis)

That's without a single doubt the most idiotic plan I've ever heard. You make Frank Farina look like a genius.

BOS English Premier League Fantasy Soccer/Football League

Great stuff.. goal, assist and a clean sheet. Can't ask for much more from anyone than that. Who would've thought at the start of the season that Chimbonda would be getting me all my points.

    Full-on Horror flicks

Audition is the scariest Japanese movie I have ever seen bar none. Not really psychologically scary, or even monster-jump-from-behind-curtain scary.. it's just visceral. Painful to watch, in a good way.

God I hate having games in hand, it makes the table position look so much uglier and puts more pressure on the team to perform. Hurry up and let us play them already.

    Tony Takitani (Murakami adaptation)

Hear the Wind Sing and Pinball, 1973 were never published in English by English publishers, but interestingly were released by a Japanese publisher by the name of Kodansha. You can get them on amazon . I expect the translation should be of fairly good quality as they're translated by Alfred...

    Tony Takitani (Murakami adaptation)

I'm pretty sure they've already been translated. There's a copy of Pinball 1973 at my uni library..hidden well away from the rest of the Japanese literature, including his own work. Quite odd. And yes, same character in Wild Shee's Chase, I still haven't gotten around to the other 2 yet though.

    Full-on Horror flicks

The original Dark Water had one very scary scene towards the end, other than that it was just creepy. Great movie though, much better than Ringu imo.

    Tony Takitani (Murakami adaptation)

Dance Dance Dance is the 4th book in a series actually. Hear the Wind Sing, Pinball 1973 and A Wild Sheep Chase all precede it. Having said that, I read Dance before the other 3 as well and loved it. It's a great place to start.. the perfect combination of sentiment and whimsy, the two main...

God Houllier was embarrassing with his comparisons. Cheyrou was the 'new Zidane' and Traore was the 'new Desailly' as well.

For some reason Panathinaikos have decided to play Igor in the centre of defence, where he was voted as the EPL's worst player. He was more than competent in midfield last year.

    Tony Takitani (Murakami adaptation)

Norwegian Wood is the first of his books I read, so it's a sentimental favourite. I'm sure you'll love it too :)

    Tony Takitani (Murakami adaptation)

I envy you, your Angus and Robertson actually stocks Murakami. Yes I've read Windup Bird, it's not my personal favourite, but most critics will tell you differently. It's probably his least sentimental and most complex book.. some would even say it's deliberately confusing at times. Still quite...

    Tony Takitani (Murakami adaptation)

Sweet, another person who's read Murakami. I really liked Sputnik Sweetheart too. On another note, I read somewhere that 2046 was a ripoff of Dance, Dance, Dance. Apparently Wong Kar Wai is a huge Murakami fan. Now that I think about it, it does have some similar themes and characters.

    Tony Takitani (Murakami adaptation)

Yep, a short story by the same title published in the New Yorker 3 years ago. Admittedly I haven't read it, but you can definitely feel Murakami's presence in the film.
