You should aim to be better in section 1 and/or 2 for UWS.
With 62 in each you'll get 155 which afaik wouldn't have gotten you an interview this year if you weren't GWS.
I travelled 2 hours (each way) (sometimes longer) all last year, it's actually not that bad if you do...
lol
Why would you do that?
Anyways it's not a percentile cutoff, it's a 1:1:0.5 ratio for the different sections. The lowest non-GWS I know of this year was 155.5 which is only 4 above the lowest GWS I saw.
The UMAT cutoff changes each year.
I did one or two past papers with a friend really spread out and not timed.
So not really.
THEY DON'T LOOK AT YOUR GPA IF YOUR ATAR IS ALREADY ABOVE THE CUTOFF.
They look at the better of the two.
it's as long as you haven't completed your degree.
for 2012 UMAT yep. ^_^
They took my ATAR not my GPA and I live in the area (down the road) so the ATAR needed was 93.5.
I also scored significantly higher in section 1 than the other sections (76) and UWS likes sections 1 and 2 more than 3.
So yay ^_^
I don't see that as a bad thing.
I got into med with like barely any effort at all. I call that a win when I know that a lot of people work super hard and don't get in. (I also call it being super lucky)
Nahhh. Haha
He was probs my best mate in the last year of HS and was our captain and DUX and he's trying to get into med for next year. WE WERE SUPPOSED TO GET IN TOGETHER LIAM, I KEPT MY PART OF THE PROMISE!!!!
Nahhhh, you probs work harder. Lol
I don't even know.
I'm naturally super duper logical so that helped with UMAT. The only reason I passed most of Uni is because I'm just so good at logically working things out with little info.
And I'm sociable and have ~morals~ so even though I thought I did terrible in the interview my...
year 12 --> Did shit in UMAT. Got an ATAR 4 points below predicted. Still just good enough for med at UWS.
Uni --> went for USyd MedSc/Engg. Hated it. Loved the uni. Family member died. Did average in first sem. Did slightly better in UMAT. Knew I would get an offer for a UWS interview. Didn't...
yes, that is what it is. It isn't transferring and yes, you can do it WHENEVER. For med it just has to be at the start of a new year or whatevs. Other degrees you are sometimes able to start second sem. Not med. not nursing either iirc.
Nope.
You can have finished a degree, not finished...
you will have to ask them directly then because the new info on their site does not mention a first year GPA anymore just an ATAR and completed degree GPAs.
you can do it in first year, second, third, fourth, fifth, after you finish your degree, etc. as long as its within like 10 years of completing your degree (or as long as you're still in a degree).
It's like any other course swap except harder.
you won't be transferring.
By the time you finish med your prior uni will not let you go back and finish your previous degree and since no units are counting it isn't a ~transfer~ it is you entering another separate course and yes you're obvi allowed to do that, there are at least two people in...
