    Semester 2 Chatter Thread (2007)

Re: OFFICIAL Semester 2, 2007 Thread Morning lads and lasses! Is anyone doing HSTY1088 (Australian History)? If so, where are the lectures being held? I'm still tossing up between it and HSTY1034 but it looks like I won't be able to make a decision until tomorrow evening at the earliest, so I...

    Neighbours

Well, the new opening sequence certainly adheres to the soap opera tradition of not allowing any male character between ages 15 and 25 to wear a shirt.

    Semester 2 Chatter Thread (2007)

Re: OFFICIAL Semester 2, 2007 Thread Ha. Tempting except I haven't read it yet and I'll be on a train somewhere around Parramatta at 9am. Maybe I'll buy it tomorrow and power-read for three hours. And also through the Geopol lecture, if the lecturer is as bad as everyone says.

    Semester 2 Chatter Thread (2007)

Re: OFFICIAL Semester 2, 2007 Thread Let me rephrase that. Anyone want to give me some ideas, not involving standing in massive queues, on how to spend my three hour break tomorrow? I want to pretend that I'm not back at uni for as long as possible.

    Semester 2 Chatter Thread (2007)

Re: OFFICIAL Semester 2, 2007 Thread Arts Network sez: "Philosophy Room S249. Enter via any entrace and walk to Lobby D [which is the one behind the Jacaranda that leads into the staircase]. Walk past the Lobby and take the next door on your left. Rm S249 is straight ahead." Not fantastically...

    Social Science & History?

Have a look here for the degree structure. It requires two majors, a social science one and another from anywhere in the Arts faculty. So yeah, you'd be able to do history as an Arts major, or just do units in it without majoring.

    WebCT updating

I got an email on Friday from the coordinator of the HSTY course I'm enrolled in saying that the course outline, which I want to take a look at because I'm still undecided as to whether to do the subject, was up on WebCT. However, I'm still getting a list of last semester's subs, which...

2007 Federal Election - Coalition or Labor/Howard or Rudd?

Ooh, qualitative polling! Just what I've been wishing for! Focus groups of soft voters in marginal seats, conducted for the ALP:

    B Arts & Sciences

Don't know why it would say that - Econ isn't in the Faculty of Arts and hence isn't an Arts major. So you wouldn't be able to do Econ as a sole major in the BAS, but I don't see anything in the degree resolutions that would forbid you from doing it as a second major.

    Anyone?

http://www2.arts.usyd.edu.au/ArtsNetwork//docs/main_quad_instr.pdf Except the directions to the Greek Room are wrong.

    Dr Who

I didn't mind her at all, although I hope they don't do the same 'She grows discontented with her home life and her stupid boyfriend' thing that they did with Rose and appear to be doing with Gwen in Torchwood. Wasn't a particularly good episode in terms of plot, but I'm willing to forgive them...

    Pirate Master

I've been watching highlights on the CBS site (we're about three weeks behind the US) and by about Episode 5 it actually starts getting good. Hate Louie and Christa, though.

    Myuni trouble

Yep, same with me. I think it might be regular maintenance, because it seems to happen every couple of weekends.

2007 Federal Election - Coalition or Labor/Howard or Rudd?

? Since the article essentially consists of a brief summary of a court finding and a statement from the PM I find it hard to see where the Marxist bias (or is it Maoist? I forget, the deranged ramblings of Bishop, Henderson, Albrechtsen and co. blur together after a while) could creep in.
