just wondering, HOW and WHEN do we re-enrol for next year? shouldn't we be getting notices of it around now like the other uni's?? i got one from usyd, what about mq??

i don't do non award but i say you should do it over a semester. that way you'll know what to expect of a full time workload... a friend of mine spread it over 2 semester, thats 2 subejcts per semester, and was shocked by the difference of the workload from part time to full time...

for your first question, i got 3156.05 i didn't use your working out cuz i don't udnerstand it... heres what i did: first i had to convert the interest rates. they were given as yearly interest rates but payments were every quarter, so you'd have to convert them to quarterly interest...

what degree you doing again iambored? the efs unit tutors don't seem 'friendly'.. well thats the impression i get... and the inflexibility of the degrees at usyd depends on the degree. for eg a b.commerce degree at mq, you chose a program ot study within the degree, the only freedom you have...

both uni's are really different... the usyd atmosphere is very academically orientated. SOME people there are snobby.. but not all are. on a typical day there are thousands of people, so much more than mq. i think the MQ atmosphere is friendlier and people arn't as obsessed with getting...

what exactly would you like to know?

b. applied finance is equivalent to b. commerce with majors in finance at other uni's... mq felt they had to create a whole separate degree with applied finance... :S the degree is made up of accounting and economics units, and a few actuarial units...

uh monday is labour day isn't it? so public holiday...

actually if you trasnfer internally or via uac, you will fall under the new hecs system because you gotta fill out a new hecs/tax form... but since mq isn't increasing its fees, it won't matter... as for mq scrapping their internal trasnfer policy, i asked and they said they weren't...

oh yeah i forgot to mention that it was a single degree... i was just pointing out that you can't double major in finance and accounting under the single degree of b. commerce- accounting.

i'm considering uni's in canada mainly... only because i have relatives there and they would be able to help me with accomodation... plus the exchange rate of CAD and AUD is pretty much 1 to 1... also from the list of partnerships with canadian uni's, those 2 are the ones my relatives...
