    Phys or Bio (pls help)

I did both - you're right that year 11 bio is boring, but year 12 bio was a lot more fun. Imo physics had more memorisation than bio as bio felt more like understanding than memorising. As we had 3 sets of trials, I only really had to memorise the bio content once and most of it stuck in my...

    subject selection help, pls!!

I don't think subjects are that important for future career path, maybe except medicine and a few others which have prerequisite subjects at certain unis. Just pick whatever has the best balance between scaling/alignment and what you feel you'd get the best marks in.

What are your tips for reading task time management Paper 1 Advanced English?

When I did paper 1 I just found most of (or all, I forgot) my techniques during reading time so that was helpful as I could only write like 800-900 words in 40 min for my essay.

    Unsure of Degree

If you're looking ultra long term then data science is more safe as a lot of commerce jobs are probably the first to get automated (e.g. accounting) but in terms of being "oversaturated", you can probably say that about most fields. If you're a good candidate you'll get a job, if you suck you...

    Uni help

Doesn't matter the only thing that's gonna separate u from other candidates (for software engineering in particular) is ur projects. In saying that I'd probably say UNSW. Trimesters get a lot of hate but I did one trimester at UNSW and it was honestly better as it lets you focus your attention...

    Doing HSC exam

Felt normal since we had 3 sets of trials so that was heaaaaps of practice. Only felt a bit nervous for physics since I slept like 4 hrs for it but I was excited to do the maths ones since I was confident and had the mindset that I was gonna get 100. I was also nervous for physics since I did...

    scalar/vector projection definition

Yep if you project vector a onto vector b you get vector a1

    scalar/vector projection definition

I think scalar projection is just the magnitude of the vector projection but haven't learnt it in a while so might be wrong.

What is genuinely considered a good raw mark?

Yeah and also something I did was just start the exam with the non-multiple choice questions, and start with the easiest part for momentum. Yeah so it's definitely possible to improve to a 90 raw mark. I even wanted to quit Maths Ext 2 in the first semester because complex numbers and graphs...

What is genuinely considered a good raw mark?

I was getting 70s for trials too then grinded and improved after every past paper before the HSC and got (I'm guessing) around 85-90 raw (I dunno) so make sure you improve when you do the papers. For example my biggest problem was I couldn't do the hard questions. Most people just look at the...

    UNSW OR USYD COMMERCE???

Honestly depends on what field/job u wanna get into in the future and if the stuff u study in Advanced Studies will help.

    UNSW OR USYD COMMERCE???

For employability they're probably barely different, plus employability is about you not the uni Regarding SOCIAL LIFE, I feel like every uni has a good one as long as u put in the effort to join/go to society events. I remember when I was enrolled in UNSW (before changing to MQ instead) I was...

    Studying For HSC

When I did HSC I tried doing 3 papers per day (8-9 hours per day) which failed, so it usually resulted in 2 papers per day but occasionally 3. Different subjects is good as it makes it more fun, imagine studying one thing for 9 hours straight. I'd probably say focus on improving marks on your...

    English Advanced

Nah I definitely agree that having a better vocabulary helps with your marks, I think I needed it to get into the 95 range for english. But yeah then again I feel like some people get too bogged down on trying to make their essay sound nice when the actual structure + analysis is the issue. I...

    English Advanced

I never read books hence my vocabulary was very basic/simple so my essays didn't sound that nice. Also I memorised quotes rather than essays and just spammed the essay question after every quote+analysis and it somehow worked (luck subject tbh). Also you don't need to have a very good...

    HSC atar calculator

I sorta used it for English, as my school got around 10 band 6's the previous year, and I was rank 6. So I estimated my HSC mark to be around 92-93 but obviously your performance on the day matters. Didn't really use that method for the other subjects though as I was ranked 1st, and in that...

    HSC atar calculator

This is my experience from plugging in my actual HSC marks the day before ATAR came out. From memory Matrix gave me the best estimate (it said around 99.7), Talent 100/HSC Ninja said 99.9 approximately. Honestly not even sure if Matrix calc existed in 2017 (probably) but I just know that Talent...
