    Reliance on laptops/computers for Law?

i dunno what makes law different, but i've sat a tonne of economics/finance units where i could probably see 2 people using laptops.

    Subjects in an Arts/Law degree

ANU - STUDYAT - Bachelor of Arts/Bachelor of Laws damn... look like law/arts is a very rigid degree. i'm actually surprised because most double degrees allow some flexibility in electives. not law/arts though, by the looks of things.

    Chance of special consideration?

shouldn't be a problem if the reason's legit and your doctor outlined everything okay. got a mate whose marks got pushed up to HD's from D's due to SC.

    commerce/law at ANU

if you go to ANU you'll be in for a tougher battle for good marks. i've seen first year USYD papers for economics and they are a piss compared to ANU's ones. law would be tougher to get good marks aswell, because ANU's law faculty 'bellcurves' their marks (adjusts them so it fits a predefined...

    doing two languages...

it's certainly possible - it's just like doing two seperate units. to be honest, unless there's a written rule... you can do four languages at once if you're hardcore. spanish/greek/mandarin/french... (you can even overload with japanese) i dare you ;) also if you want a further challenge, try...

    Stupid Law Bellcurving

investment banking - where anything below a D (a HD realistically) shatters any chances of an interview.

    Quick question about ANU

nope. if you pay upfront it's $725/unit so that's about $6k a year.

    Stupid Law Bellcurving

fair enough. so i take it getting D's and HD's is excruciatingly hard in law subjects? if so i better warn my brother who's starting his first year in a Law degree at ANU.

    Stupid Law Bellcurving

actually, i think ECON2141 scaled up this year. my mate (who has gotten a HD in mirco 1/2 and macro 1/2) did it and thought he crashed and burnt in the final. he ended up getting a 54 which although isn't that great, made him extremely happy because he was expecting a mark which was 20 less. but...

    Stupid Law Bellcurving

probably ANU trying to keep its prestige. actuary/stat/finance units also tend to scale down. i think the highest score from a second year finance unit (with 350 students) was 90 or so.

    uni course query

yes. engineering is essentially 50% calculus by the time you get into second year. also UAIs fluctuate based on how many people apply. if 50 people apply for a course which has a capacity of 1000, then the UAI cutoff would be the UAI of the 50th guy that got in. if 2000 people apply, then the...

    finding a job in canberra?

math1115/1116 are first year units so obviously they are easier than math2406.

Under the requirement- do i have any chance?

every course is boring when you study it in depth mate. law isn't known to be an exciting degree either.

Future Students '09ers! meet and greet here

my understanding is IT is essentially the same as Seng. Seng differs in that you do a few managerial units and a few engineering units (intro engineering units like "thinking like an engineer"). my older brother originally did Seng but left at the end of his third year - he transferred to an IT...
