stat2001 shits all over stat1008 in terms of difficulty... absolutely no comparison.
math1115 might be a better course to listen to, especially when you learn double integrals.
edit: hahaha, responded to a year-old post...
this is usually the stuff covered in your 1st year/2nd year.
Index of /~kmtam/stat2001
(stat2001 is considered a beginning course to other fun-filled actuary courses)
check out stat2008 exam, quite a fun read :)
basically if you got above the posted score you're in, guaranteed.
economics is now 84
all the courses that were 75 are now 80
law is 95.5
just looked at all the Unis that UAC supports and it seems ANU has the highest minimum cutoff (80).
well... either way, good luck mate! if your UAI falls under the cutoff by a little (maybe up to 3 points), ANU will still let you in.
they aren't really nazi about cutoffs, from observation.
cool. transfer in your second year, it's easy as pie.
you might want to do micro econ 1 in your first year though. so when you transfer it'll be like you did all the units a normal arts/commerce kid did.
yeah. two relatively big shopping centers nearby
walk - walk to canberra center - about 10 minutes. there's a superbarn there
bus - trip to westfield belconnen - about 15 minutes, bus comes like every 10 minutes. there's a coles/woolies there.
anu does not have any bridging courses as far as i know.
here are the first year courses for maths:
Department of Mathematics - First Year Courses
the only maths course you can do is
ANU - STUDYAT - Philosophy of the Cosmos
although i would not recommend it tbh.
everything else requires...
EMET1001 is little simpler than the calculus you learn in MATH1013/1014, but it has microeconomics 1 and 2 bashed in. these MATH unit requires specialist maths/4 unit maths to get in unfortunately :(
also 85 can get you into many courses. commerce requires a UAI of 75 and it is (i'm guessing)...
you'll need to do emet1001 in your economics degree in your first year. this involves maths equivalent to first year calculus.
so since you've only done year 10 maths, i think you'll struggle a great deal.
Re: best uni in sydney for Bachelor of Economics
more like "u went shit" hahahaa
seriously though afaik there is nothing in terms of a study which says what uni is the best for economics other than people saying their own uni is.
