    Combined Medicine at USYD.

From my experience, the 99.95 UAI cut-off (for the Sci/Med combo, at least) is pretty strongly enforced. A friend of mine who got 99.90 last year rang up and tried very hard to ask for a chance at an interview and was turned down. As for numbers, there are 52 students in total from 2006-2008...

    Band E3/E4 for Ext 2

He meant "aligned" not scaled. ;) Aligning is what BOS does to convert raw exam marks into your HSC exam/assessment marks. Scaling is what UAC does to calculate your UAI so that 90 in Gen. Maths is weighted differently to 90 in MX2.

Re: Results and Predictions (Sem 1 '08) Gosh that's annoying. Remark everything! But you did very well, nonetheless.

Results and Predictions (Semester 1 2008)

Re: Results and Predictions (Sem 1 '08) I'd be very happy to - if you'd like to re-do the HSC? Hehehe. ;) You've got some very impressive results there yourself.

    B. Medicine UAI

Yes. B Commerce/MBBS or B Economics/MBBS. It's a brilliant idea. Train doctors to treat patients and scrape a sizeable profit. Before you know it, they're going to be offering B Architecture/MBBS. :) Yet they won't let me enrol in B Sc (Adv Maths)/MBBS.

    B. Medicine UAI

Don't underestimate MBBS at UNSW/UWS just because of the cut. Only in extremely rare and exceptional case do people with those UAIs get admitted. Rumour has last year's average UAI for UNSW MBBS as 99.70.

    Undergrad Med?

As above, USYD doesn't offer undergraduate medicine. But keep the BX/MBBS combined program in mind (and on UAC list), just in case.

    Olympiad Acceleration University

I have a handful of friends who went straight into 2nd year Chemistry/Biology because they were on the Olympiad teams. It's not enough to only have attended training, etc. Don't know of anyone doing it for Physics. But the Chemistry/Biology friends are doing fine so I'd imagine Physics to be...

Anyone stuffed up an assesment and still got 90 or more UAI?

Sometimes a stuff-up isn't really a stuff-up. My MX2 raw internal mark was 74/100. Turned out that for my teacher 60 = mid E4. Don't pay too much attention to exact figures in internal assessments, especially if it's just a minor hiccup in one assessment. It's all relative.

    BSc(Advanced Mathematics)

Wow! You need a HD average to stay in Physics TSP? Maybe that's why you get to go on all the cool excursion... and walk on satellite dishes. I'm sure you'll manage without sweat. There must be very subtle differences in the way TSP works between Phys and Maths then. :P I'm literally allowed to...

    BSc(Advanced Mathematics)

You need at 12cp of intermediate maths as pre-requisite for all the senior units anyway, unless you're taking one through TSP. I'm making a non-serious attempt at MATH3065 for leisure this semester (1 lecture every fortnight just isn't going to work) and I'll do it properly next year if my...

I'm here, I'm here. Alternatively, you could ask hague about it - he's been doing it since last year. :P >>> i just wanted to know whether or not the usyd combined medicine program would be running next year? ive been looking around and it appears to me that the course was only for 2007...

    Problem with simulataneous equations :(

Yes, I personally prefer that method. However, if a question specifies the use of simultaneous equations then do as they ask.

    Problem with simulataneous equations :(

My mental arithmetic is failing me. 378/2 = 189 not 169. LOL. Can't live without having a calculator these days. :p Mark let b represent the digit in tens and a represent the digit in ones, so the magnitude of this two-digit number becomes a +10b.

    Problem with simulataneous equations :(

    2. Let the walking speed of person A be a km/h and person B be b km/h. "If they walk towards each other, then they will meet in 2hrs" means after person A has walked for 2 hrs at a km/h and person B for 2 hrs at b km/h towards each other, the distance between them is 0. So together them they...
