I only managed about 5 pages, but my teacher says I'm definitely quality over quantity so I hope for a semi-decent mark anyway. Did anyone get the 4-page booklets this year? I think everyone at my centre got the 8-page ones.

Section I: 2-3 pages Section II: ~3 pages Section III: ~5 pages I'm being rather optimistic I admit, but I'm hoping for somewhere between 9 and 12 for each section, so around 30/45. And I'll definitely be sending in another FOI request :D

I was referring specifically to the Business students at my school, and I've confirmed that they did get to take theirs out. I'll ask the supervisor on Friday, and maybe see if I can get one out then.

LOL, our lady isn't a Nazi, far from it. But I'm not really sure why she told us to do that today, I'm pretty sure the Business Studies people could take theirs out.

Did anyone else get specifically told to leave the exam booklet in the room? I wanted to take it :(

Well, I doubt that they will completely ignore the second text, but rather view it as additional material referenced rather than one of the primary texts you talk about. I did use a third text, but I made it very clear that it wasn't my 'official' ORT but rather just an additional reference.

I'd think trial marks would be helpful in figuring out just what that rank in the class actually means...

So you're doing pathways, and those marks for last year are your HSC marks, I take it? In that case it's very strange that they're letting you do 3U English. If you do well in your extension courses this year that'll bring it up, but your results from last year aren't all that great. I'd say...

There's a difference between being kind and being dishonest. That said, kaiwoktna, if you pick up your marks particularly in maths, I think you could achieve 90+.

Um, that may be what helper means, but that's not what he's saying. helper mentions the terms scaling, best 10 units, and UAC numerous times...

My understanding is that they do calculate scaled scores for every course, but the aggregate is only of the best 10 units. And individual course scaling can only be done in comparison to other results in that course and in that course alone. So the work in your bad subject does get scaled, but...

I'd like an official source for that, it's contrary to everything I've seen from UAC and from anyone else. My understanding is that they scale each course separately.
